Qatar Airways has launched a special Business Class promotion out of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
You need to book by TOMORROW (Sunday 19th) for travel until 31st May 2020, although black-out dates will apply.
For once Qatar Airways has sent us some pricing examples which is helpful. The pricing is not the best we’ve ever seen from Qatar, but if you can get seats over peak periods such as Christmas or Easter 2020 it will make sense:
- Munich – Singapore €1,999
- Frankfurt – Maldives €2,099
- Frankfurt – Cape Town €1,999
- Berlin – Johannesburg €1,999
- Berlin – Kuala Lumpur €1,999
- Munich – Langkawi €1,999
- Berlin – Bali €2,299
- Munich – Hong Kong €1,999
- Zurich – Bangkok CHF 2,470 (£1,914)
- Zurich – Sydney CHF 3,699 (£2,867)
- Vienna – Seychelles €2,499
There will be more out there so it might be worth having a play over at the Qatar Airways website. Before booking, check pricing out of Stockholm because that has been the cheapest Qatar Airways European starting point for a few months now.
If you are looking for our Qatar Airways flights reviews:
Boeing 777-300ER – this will either have the older 2-2-2 seating I reviewed here or will be a refurbished one with the amazing new Qsuite (reviewed here and pictured above)
A350-900 / Boeing 787 – you usually get the herringbone seat which I reviewed here which is very impressive. Qatar has a special website showing off this seat which you’ll find here. I believe that the most recent A350 deliveries have the holy grail of Qsuite.
A330-200 – these aircraft have all been refitted with flat seats, usually in a 2-2-2 configuration. Worth avoiding if possible as these aircraft are heading for retirement.
A380 – this is the herringbone seat (as on the 787) which I reviewed here, it is not Qsuite but has a great bar
Remember that these are great trips for British Airways tier points. Most of these Business Class trips will earn 560 tier points which is 90% of an Executive Club Silver card. This is because you earn per leg and, with a plane change in Doha, you are doing 4 x 140 tier point flights return.
Each flight must be over 2,000 miles long in order to trigger 140 tier points instead of 40 tier points. This won’t be a problem for the routes above but, for example, booking a flight to Delhi would not work because Doha-Delhi is under 2,000 miles.
If you don’t have a credit card with 0% foreign exchange fees, your best option for paying is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold which offers triple points – 3 per £1 – when you book flight tickets in a foreign currency. This is because the transaction triggers the ‘double points for airline spend’ and the ‘double points for foreign spend’ bonuses.
Take a look at the German special offers page here, the Austrian offers page here and the Swiss offers page here. The main booking page is here.
