(Another) new IHG hotel brand launched – Atwell Suites

InterContinental Hotels Group is launching (another) brand, this time aimed at extended stays. Atwell Suites is intended to be ‘upper-midscale’ and will be exclusively for new build properties, starting in the US. The first property will open in 2021.

Quite what sets Atwell Suites apart from IHG’s existing extended stay brands isn’t clear (we had a look at the Staybridge Suites in Manchester here). Both have, or will have, studio rooms with kitchenettes as well as a variety of communal areas for business, entertaining and relaxing.

Still, IHG has a long way to go if it wants to compete head to head with Marriott’s 30 different brands …..
