Three new routes from Edinburgh Airport departed for the first time this week taking the number of Loganair’s destinations from the Scottish capital to 12. A weekly flight to Guernsey joins Bergen and Stavanger on the new schedule. The timetable is:
Bergen: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Stavanger: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
Guernsey: Saturday
All three routes are operated on Embraer E135 regional jets with 37 all-economy seats.
Bergen is included in the British Airways codeshare arrangement, so you can book Heathrow – Edinburgh – Bergen on ba.com. You will earn Avios and tier points for both legs.
Note that this is only possible when your Loganair flight is booked to connect to a British Airways flight. You cannot book Edinburgh-Bergen with an Avios-earning BA flight number as a stand-alone flight.
Stavanger and Guernsey do not seem to be included in Loganair’s British Airways codeshare arrangement, but you can credit them to the Clan Loganair loyalty scheme. We reviewed Clan Loganair here.
Your best option to maximise your miles when paying is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold. This offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you when you book flight tickets directly with an airline. Our review of Amex Gold is here.
