Get a good No1 Lounges airport lounge deal on Groupon

  Re groupon lounge offer…..its implied that both no 1 and club rooms can be bought for £20, at BHX then further down it says club rooms £28. I think someone is confusing no 1 lounges with Aspire lounges, of which there are two at BHX but which are not included in the groupon offer. There is just one No1 and one (No1) clubrooms.

    there’s normally a discount code on Groupon, eg code TRIPLE gets 10% off for new customers (= new email address). Or 17% off promotion (expires today) to earn a few Avios.

  Yes, £500 on the Bremont website earlier this week processed by Stripe. Deliberately didn’t choose the Apple Pay option. Not asked AmEx CS yet.

    see below: online orders don’t trigger the £400 statement credit whereas in-store transaction work fine

    answer: send back goods for full refund then go buy them again in store

    (don’t trust Amex CS to make a manual credit to your Amex a/c at some indeterminate time in the future, it’s just BS & not going to happen)

      So there was no paym,ent option on the website which met the Ts & Cs of the offer despite the terms including the statement “Available in participating store(s) and online at http://www.bremont.com.”

      Very poor show indeed.
      Either an accident which Bremont & Amex will rectify between themselves or is a sneaky scam by Bremont.

        I’ve had a similar fight in the past over the regular Connaught £25 off £75 offer. This instalment was for restaurants only and said in store or online. The ONLY way to purchase from the Connaught restaurant online is to pre-pay, I.e. a gift voucher. My £25 back was denied. So, there was no actual way to redeem the offer online, despite the wording saying one could do so.

    I take it that in this situation, Stripe is still showing once the transaction lists as confirmed.
    By contrast, Billhop transactions on my Amex have listed as Stripe while pending, but once confirmed, they state Billhop, with no mention of Stripe.

    Sounds to me like a lack of communication between people in marketing and in IT.

  I experienced the same issue with the Bremont offer. Purchased a qualifying amount from their website which uses Stripe to process their transactions. Didn’t get and email or notification saying the offer had been redeemed but thought I’d give it a week just in case before I reached out to Amex. Called Amex who told me the offer was not redeemed because it was processed through Stripe even though it was purchased directly from their website. Told the CS that the terms of offer explicitly say that purchases from their website qualify but since they use Stripe as a payment aggregator which does not qualify, it was contradictory and misleading to card members. I asked if they could still honour the offer but the were unable to and was told they would make a note of the issue and look into it. I ended up sending the items back for a refund with the included shipping label and picked up the items in-store instead which triggered the offer.

  I had the same problem with Bremont. They said they will investigate and look to reimburse the £400 manually.
  They said it takes 7-10 days.
  Has anyone had any luck in getting a resolution?

  OT but lounges
  First of all a huge thank you to Rob and everybody on hfp for the advice which has made it happen: I’m off to Japan for cherry blossom season at the weekend 😁
  Is there a stand out lounge I should be heading for? I have PP through Amex plat and all legs are J redemptions.
  T5 out of Heathrow (BA)
  T1 out of Hong Kong (Cathay)
  T2 out of Narita (Cathay)
  T1 out of HKG (BA)

    Have a great time Matt, I’m doing the same trip for my ( cough) 60th next year. But I’m doing a cruise round Japan as it was the best way with my mobility problems for me. Been saving Hilton points for pre cruise hotel and 241 voucher for our flights.

    T5, if off B, just go to the BA lounge at 5B. Otherwise much of a muchness. Not well placed to comment on the rest but The Pier in Hk is well regarded.

    Although make sure you give yourself time as it is at gate 65!

      Have you selected VIP car instead of exec to push the price up?

      I like Wheely much better than Uber. Also based on two journeys Wheely seem very accommodating to dog owners raising no issues whatsoever.

    Ok so I took the trip but max tip you can add was 20%, so was just below the £25!
    I’ve asked customer support to add more tip to take me over £25 so will see what happens!

    The Mercedes S Class was very nice

  Similar to Bremont, one of the Hilton hotels I’ve stayed in recently has come up as 3CPAYMENT*HILTON and the £50/£250 offer hasn’t triggered when I expected it to. Is this likely the same issue or does 3C usually count?

      It was the Hilton Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury. However, of course I wasn’t paying at checkout (as per T’c & C’s) but on an advance rate (which wasn’t £250 in one transaction as per T’s & C’s) so probably no comeback (and I have until May so will inevitably make up the difference on a separate booking). Maybe the checkout uses a different system? The particular hotel is listed as amongst those participating in the deal.

    I bet the sneaky wotsits are doing it on purpose. Not only does it wangle them out of the scope of Amex offers, but it enables them to deceive consumers in to thinking section 75 doesn’t apply (which legally it still does; I’ve researched it, but good luck getting acknowledgement from the company or the stupid ombudsman – money claim to enforce).

    Was the hotel definitely on the Amex list? If so and it was a clear stay with receipt, etc. then can’t see Amex denying although may not go through automatically.

      Yes – see reply above. If I’d fully complied with the T’s & C’s I’d raise a claim but was hoping as usual for it to be cumulative and including advance reservations.

        I can’t imagine they’ve changed anything so should be fine with cumulative and paying in advance, how long since your combined >£250 spend cleared on your card? I’ve found offers are taking longer to post.
