Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Have you had problems with the American Express and Bremont cashback deal?

A couple of weeks ago we highlighted a very generous deal being offered by British watch brand Bremont via American Express.

If you were targeted by American Express for this offer and signed up, you would receive £400 cashback with a £500+ spend at Bremont.  £500 doesn’t get you very far with their watches but the company also sells a range of accessories and leather goods.

A reader has dropped me a line to say that Bremont processed his online order via Sripe, a third party payment processor.  This meant that the purchase did NOT register as ‘Bremont’ on his American Express statement and so he has not received his £400 cashback.  It is not clear if this is, ahem, an accidental administrative oversight.

The reader has made a complaint via American Express which is investigating.  If you’ve had a similar issue redeeming this offer, please let me know.

Purchased made in a Bremont store do not seem to be impacted and go through OK.
