The British Airways ‘Landor’ Boeing 747 retro livery takes off

The third repainted aircraft celebrating BA’s 100th anniversary took to the skies yesterday.

A Boeing 747 has been repainted in what is known as the ‘Landor’ livery (named after the firm that designed it) used between 1984 and 1997.

This aircraft originally had this livery when it entered service, and has been given back its original name – ‘City of Swansea’ – for the occasion.

It landed at Heathrow yesterday morning from the paint shop in Ireland and was immediately sent off to Miami. It will retain the paint scheme until the aircraft is retired in 2023.

I have scattered a few pictures throughout the rest of this article. There is one further repainted aircraft to come, which will feature the Negus design. This was used immediately before Landor and has some similarities to it.

  Transaction costs fund the points deals. If you want low cost Halifax or iWeb. If you’re serious about share dealing/ISA accounts then performance of the investments should interest you far more than some points.

OT need some maths help on my options of moving Amex points to krisflyer or marriott
I have 79k to move, and will have 33k in marriott by the end of the month,
My question is if I move to marriott and then to krisflyer in the future (once I figure out whether I really want to use it on flights or bonvoy hotels) would I still lose out on the ratio of points to krisflyer, even with the 5k bonus when moving 20k to airlines?

  Simple answer without me bothering to log in to Bonvoy to check the figures is that it will always be better to transfer direct MR points—>whatever
  
  you can ignore the 5K Bonvoy bonus, it still won’t be better than transferring direct Amex—>Krisflyer

  Going direct (along with moving your Marriotts):
  79k MR -> 79k KF
  + 33k Marriott -> 11k KF
  = 90k KF
  
  Going indirect:
  79k MR -> 118.5k Marriotts
  + 33k = 151.5k Marriotts
  = 60.5k KF
  
  In short, going indirect you lose value but keep optionality

    33% hit for flexibility. Whatever way it’s calculated even more if you’d be eligible for an IDC and hit the $ spend as c30% bonus on your MR to then move direct to krisflyer.
    
    Hard expiry of 3 years from transfer on krisflyer so have to be sure I guess.

      Though I do vaule MR highly for hotel stays find flight can be easier to come by at discount prices than hotels at peak dates.

  No the ex BMI 320’s still have the bulkhead in front of 1AC 1DF. The other config you’re referring to shows on the seat map as 1AC being an exit row on manage my booking. Those seats are right by the door without any separation between you and the crew facing you on take off and landing. There’s no 1DF on those planes. Seats 2DF being the first row on the other side of plane do have a bulkhead however so that’s the easiest way to tell what type of plane you’re on.

I think i have just boarded that 747 for YVR>LHR.
Long wait due to inspection after a lighting strike inbound YVR. Hopefully then return will be better..
