I have never flown Alitalia long haul but the seat on their A330 fleet looks OK. This is the latest generation of seat they use although I think there are a variety in use:
A reader who flew with Alitalia to Mauritius two weeks ago sent me this ‘real life’ picture of his seat:
Alitalia is a member of SkyTeam so you will be crediting your flight to Flying Blue, Delta SkyMiles or similar.
You can also credit Alitalia flights to Etihad Guest which opens up other options. At the very worst, you can redeem Etihad Guest miles for cash at around 0.6p per mile via PointsPay. You can sign-up for Etihad Guest here, and get 500 miles as a bonus.
Your best option to maximise your miles when paying is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold. This offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you when you book flight tickets directly with an airline. Our review of Amex Gold is here.
