    Great hotel and good to see such a nice touch at this time of year. I’ve stayed there roughly every 3 weeks since it opened earlier this year and it’s one of my favourites. Restaurant is by Marco Pierre White too so good options for dinner. Another great Hilton nearby is the Forest Pines Golf Resort about half an hour away.

    Shame on the Royal, it’s an absolute dump to be fair, stayed there once, never again.

    If you’re flying BA, you’ll only be let into the Almost@Home lounge – AY won’t let you in, even with OWS.

      If you’re in CE the rule is Almost@home; status passengers can use the Finnair lounge per OneWorld rules – we had to
      push the point slightly once but were allowed in. Do be aware that the non-Schengen lounges are very busy late afternoon/ early evening while the Far East flights depart.

    Would recommend Almost At Home. Superb staff, gorgeous lighting, calm, and nice food, serve serve winter and beer on tap. Was just the end Nov.

        Merry (belated) Christmas everyone. I’m surprised by the amount of people away. Given I’m away lots normally, all I want is to stay at home, spend time with the people I love, eat delicious food and watch crappy films.

        If there’s ever a group of people that like to go away, it’s the HfP readers!

        Christmas at home and Christmas on holiday are both wonderful – this year my family are all staying in our flat in “the Razor”. I’m lazing while the ham cooks, ready for another feast this afternoon, and then tomorrow we head to Swansea to see my boyfriend’s family. Last year my boyfriend and I were on a gloriously beautiful beach in Cambodia, before watching the New Year fireworks from a harbour view room in the Hong Kong Conrad.

        I’d do either again happily!
