Happy Christmas to you and your family. I hope you enjoy a well deserved break, wherever in the world you are.

Do please post below if your travels have taken you anywhere exciting this Christmas.  I am in London, Anika is with her newly acquired relatives.

Head for Points is taking a two day break. We will be back on Thursday 27th with a review of my travel highlights and lowlights of 2018.

If you want something to read in the meantime, take a look under the ‘Favourite Articles‘ tab where you will find my pick of the most relevant pieces published in 2018, including our (to be updated next month) ‘Avios Redemption University‘ series and all of our credit card reviews.

Thank you for your support over the past year.

HFP, the gift which keeps on giving. I’m pretty sure Rob that you have improved the travel experience for a great many HFP readers throughout this and previous years and will hopefully continue to do so for many years to come. Merry Christmas to you and yours and all the best for 2019

Merry Christmas to you all. Just told the Wife we are off to Lombok via KL in BA First so she’s rather excited.

Oooooooooooh! The Gili islands are well worth a few days too if you have enough time, they’re absolutely glorious, and Rinjani is a great hike if you like that sort of thing…

Thanks Cat will check it out. Need an FB run myself too but maybe just to Paris

Sharing our tiny Strata flat in London with boyfriend, parents, sister, brother-in-law and incredibly excited 3 year old niece! No exotic trips until Easter hols in the Philippines (Palawan and outlying Islands, as well as Siquijor and Bohol) in Cathay First (well regional business after HK, but I’ll try to make my peace with that!), then my mad summer of camping in the Alsace, followed by hiking the Tour de Mont Blanc, followed by Lufthansa First to Mexico City (via the Zurich Swiss First class lounges and the Frankfurt First class terminal), the Yucatan peninsula, then Costa Rica on a wildlife spotting trip for 2 weeks, flying home in Iberia business. That’s as well as a quick jaunt to Carcassonne to save my Flying Blue miles in Feb, as well as the trip to Mallorca and Madrid in May half term that got me all the miles for the flight back from Costa Rica! Now I have that £200 off £600 spend to play with for October half term…

2019 is shaping up quite nicely!

Merry Christmas to one and all, and thanks so much for the many brilliant tips, I would not be having nearly as much fun with my well-earned teacher holidays without this site!
