Happy Christmas to you and your family. I hope you enjoy a well deserved break, wherever in the world you are.

Do please post below if your travels have taken you anywhere exciting this Christmas.  I am in London, Anika is with her newly acquired relatives.

Head for Points is taking a two day break. We will be back on Thursday 27th with a review of my travel highlights and lowlights of 2018.

If you want something to read in the meantime, take a look under the ‘Favourite Articles‘ tab where you will find my pick of the most relevant pieces published in 2018, including our (to be updated next month) ‘Avios Redemption University‘ series and all of our credit card reviews.

Thank you for your support over the past year.

” Anika is with her newly acquired relatives!”

    Haha!

Maybe Rob or/and Anika can write a post about how this can be achievied.

Does it work like miles and points?
    What are the benefits?
    🙂

Merry Christmas from the very reasonably priced Holiday Inn Express Luton Airport.

Merry Christmas everybody! Currently in Melbourne (stopped via Singapore for a few days on the way) and onto Sydney for the New Years Eve fireworks before returning to Edinburgh via Hong Kong and Dubai.

A 3 and a half week trip all in J on a mixture of Emirates and Qantas.

Thank you for all of the travel tips!

Haven’t travelled anywhere for Christmas, but learned a very valuable and expensive lesson recently.
In order to use up my Iberia points (from that crazy promotion) I booked Tlv-Lon on iberia.com, for my expecting wife. When it came closer to travel date, i expected to be abke to add our newborn for a few avios and a few Pounds. Then we learned the hard way that Iberia do not allow infant booking using avios. This ended up costing us over £100 (double the amount of tax paid for the adults avios booking).

BA said the or hands are tied since it’s an Iberia booking. Had I booked with BA originally, it would have costed a few Pounds and 1000 avios.

Lesson learned: never book for an unborn baby on iberia.com of you can use BA.com

Happy Christmas Rob, Anika and Rhys to you and your families.

I have travelled to Budapest and Vienna to admire the Christmas markets. Booked last friday for an Avios redemption and Hotel redemptions, thanks to this great site and it’s informative articles.
Wish the extended HfP family(and their families) a Merry Xmas as well.

    Merry Christmas from Maspalomas!
Thanks to your post, I (Hong Kong based) was lucky enough to redeem a single ticket with set of flights for Oct break in Japan (CX F&J), and this Christmas trip to Gran Canaria, Barcelona and London (CX Y&F, BA J, IB Y&J).
However, with CX withdrawing most of seats from HKG, it’ll be unlikely for me to be in the game for 2019. So… Enjoy while it last!
