BA Black Friday deal: book two Club World business class tickets for £2018 over Christmas

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

Between today and Monday 26th November, British Airways is selling two Club World seats to selected destinations for £2018.  That’s just £1009 return per person.

You cannot book for one person at these rates.  However, it does seem to work for three and other odd numbers.

The deal is only valid for selected destinations.  I was genuinely surprised to see Abu Dhabi as the Middle East is normally very busy over Christmas anyway.

BA Black Friday deals

And try BA Holidays …..

These deals are often even cheaper if you add a hotel or car hire via BA Holidays.  Go to this Club World page of the BA Holidays site and check the pricing before you book ‘flight only’.

BA Holidays is also running its own Black Friday bonus.  For ‘flight + hotel’ or ‘flight + car ‘ holidays booked for travel between 1st December 2018 and 20 October 2019 you will:

  • Save £100 on holidays with a minimum spend of £2,500 per booking
  • Save £50 on holidays with a minimum spend of £1,250 per booking

BA Holidays can be booked here.  Flight-only deals can be booked at ba.com here.

To maximise your miles when paying, your best bet is the British Airways American Express Premium Plus card which earns double Avios (3 per £1) when you book at ba.com or via BA Holidays.  You do not get double Avios if you book with the free British Airways American Express card.  Another option is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold which offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you book flight tickets directly with an airline.

  • Samuel says:

Isn’t Abu Dhabi flown by Air Belgium these days? Might explain the sale.

    • RJM says:

Dubai is Air Belgium. You’re fine with BA to AUH. Also these companion fares work for three people. just booked Denver return for £996 per person Club for three people!

      • Rob says:

Thanks, corrected. We tried a 3-person test and it didn’t work but potentially it was an availability issue. Added Denver.

      • FLYGVA says:

Can confirm, three persons work for Montreal (31.12. – 09.01.) as well

  • RJM says:

Beware Business travellers these will incredibly restricted tickets. So don’t be booking if you often make changes or cancel flights. All travellers MUST travel together on all flights and in the same cabin for this to work. 🙂

  • Neil says:

Any chance Mexico will be included? Can we search for fares now or do we have to wait until 11am?

    • RJM says:

Companion fares only goes as far as West Coast. San Fran, LA, Las Vegas, so you could look into a indirect flight?

  • Tom says:

Reserved a Vancouver Fair for £10pp – now just need to beg/borrow/steal the time off work :-s.

  • ChrisC says:

    Solo flyers excluded again!

Just do a 1/2 price deal so EVERYONE can benefit.

We have money too and don’t like to be exploited!

    • BSI1978 says:

      This!

    • TGLoyalty says:

Find a companion to book with on here or flyertalk?

    • Alan says:

Indeed – so tiresome they don’t just offer it in this way 🙁

      • Shoestring says:

Destination list on the 2 for £2000 deal looks so poor that you’d have thought they could have found a way to do it 1 for £1000 a bit later/ once interest has been drummed up. I wouldn’t really choose to go to any of them these days (above other destinations).

Nothing good in SE Asia/ Australasia.

  • Russ says:

Hmnnn I’d wager they couldn’t sell these seats at the usual mark up for Christmas and they’re now trying to offload them under the Black Friday wrapper. The dates are too restrictive plus many people have already booked for Christmas by now. Come on BA we need better and quickly before the Middle East carriers release their deals.

Thanks for letting us know though Rob 🙂

    • Tom says:

Perhaps the return flights in early January are a matter of seat filling – though Denver and Vancouver over Christmas are usually pretty full. Similar flight to Vancouver over Christmas/New Years was pricing up at over £7k a ticket when I looked in August!

Decent sale by BA standards in my book.

      • Russ says:

        £7k ? Blimey.

        • Tom says:

Agree – mad in Vancouver’s case (when LHR – Seattle holds steady at £2.5k or less, same for AMS – YVR) – but the point is people to pay these rates, especially for North American ski resorts in the holidays. Avios redemptions seem to dry up 364 days in advance.

      • RJM says:

Don’t forget January SALES not far away. Don’t be booking anything yet if the Black Friday deal is not working out dates wise.

      • CV3V says:

my flights over Christmas and new year (booked on avios with 241) are outbound to Las Vegas in CW, back from SFO in F. Just priced it up at £4.5k per person in CW!

  • BJ says:

Missed out by 65 days. Hope cash sales don’t make it more likely we will be downgraded from our CW redemption seats.

  • lee says:
