Iberia has announced a number of frequency increases for next Summer which may make it easier to use your Avios to get to Latin America.
It is also worth remembering that taxes on Iberia redemptions are very low – usually well under £200 for business class long-haul flights from Madrid. The new Iberia A350 business class seat which I reviewed here is good and being rolled out as the new planes arrive.
Here are the key changes from July 2019:
Madrid – Rio de Janeiro increases to daily, with new Tuesday and Sunday flights
Madrid – Montevideo increases to daily, with new Tuesday and Saturday flights
Madrid – Quito increases to daily, with a new Friday flight
Madrid – Lima will see an additional Saturday out / Sunday back flight in July and August
In other changes:
The seasonal Madrid to San Francisco service will return for a second year, from 12th April to 27th September, with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
Premium Economy will be introduced to the Havana and Johannesburg routes from April 2019
