Iberia rolls out Premium Economy seating to Havana and Johannesburg

Iberia has announced that Havana and Johannesburg will feature its Premium Economy seating from Summer 2019.

This means a 5cm wider seat, 15cm of additional seat pitch and 40 degrees of recline. Premium Economy IFE is via a 12 inch screen compared with the 9 inch version used in Economy.

Premium Economy is already available on Iberia flights to Bogota, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Lima, Panama City, Quito, Santiago de Chile,and São Paulo in Latin America, plus Boston, Chicago, Miami, and New York in the United States.

In other news, Iberia has announced an additional three weekly flights to Lima for Summer 2019 taking it to 10 weekly services in July and August.

I have a Plat and just used my referral link to sign up for the SPG Card today.

When entering the SPG card application form – I used the same email address on file for my Plat, and also entered my Plat card number (There was a question asking if I currently hold any other Amex cards)

Could this jeopardise my application?

I did not get an immediate decision, that should follow in 10 days (always happens with my Amex applications btw). If it needs to be manually approved at the end, will that jeopardise my 18k referal MR points?

Any serious downside in attempting to use your own referral link?

  I don’t think it is a problem at all.
  They ask if you are an existing customer to do your credit search. Sometimes they just do an internal search, not a full credit check.

O/T I got an email from BA saying I needed to call them about a 241 Avios booking. Turns out some of the tax to be paid (I had booked the outbound already and then added the inbound later) hadn’t gone through, which I can only assume is because the payment was taken over the phone on the eve that BA announced the card data breach. Phoned BA and made the payment but nothing charged to the card as of yet and no follow up email/phone call asking for payment again…obviously happy not to pay but is there any chance of there being an issue when we turn up at the airport to fly if this payment hasnt been taken? Flights are all showing as normal in BAEC…thanks!

  I had exactly this issue last week when booking the return leg on my 2 for 1 voucher. I asked how long it would take to charge my card as am keen to cancel it due to the recent BA issues. They told me it is should be charged in less that 1 week as that is the maximum amount of time they can keep the security code on file. I wasn’t too bothered this time about them keeping the security code as am going to cancel the card but surely this must be a security issue.

OT – On BA reward availability checker no matter what dates I put in to check WTP reward availability it always returns an error. Searching for WT only shows WT, CW, and F. Yet you can buy cash WTP tickets. Do they not make WTP seats open for Avios redemptions?
