I would like to cite opposite experience.
Searched for LHR-MRU, and none of the OTA offered the deal offered by Amex Travel.
Amex Travel offered a Virgin Flight to JNB and onward a BA connection to MRU all in one PNR!
I went back to GF, Kayak, Sky scanner, deal was no where to be found!

  • Roger1* says:

No AmEx Travel offer for me, but not surprising. I assumed that AmEx were reducing offers on co-branded cards, and mine is a BAPP. But wait! I have no fewer than 30 current offers on my card! Most of these are for high margin clothing, jewellery and dining suppliers so irrelevant to me. These are in addition to several saved offers.

So I haven’t been totally excluded, just declined for the ones i would use. 😀

  • Graham Walsh says:

RE the Amex offer, I have the spend £600 and £200 back. Priced up an overnighter BA flight to EDI next month, £315 on BA.com. Then over to Amex travel, £345, had to close down browser and make dinner, back to Amex travel, £295 for the ticket. Next ticket I need is OSL next month, that only comes out at £140 🙁 Why is EDI so much??

  • Mikee says:

Just booked a Virgin Premium Economy return to USA for £745 which was the same price on the Virgin website……immediately received an email to say the £200 promotion had been redeemed so actual cost was £545.
Offer appeared on my Amex Platinum CREDIT card which I kept after cancelling the Platinum Charge card. Nothing on my SPG card though.

  • Leo says:

Okay I’m going to sound a bit thick. I do have the £200 off £600 offer. Is it possible to add an “experience” to a hotel itinerary booked through Amex Travel? The hotel stay I want to book is £565 and I can easily add a car transfer or a short excursion. I just can’t see how to combine them into one transaction which @Maxime says is necessary above?

    • Roger says:

      Nothing cheeky there.
In January when the offer ran last time, I used it for experience, site seeing, city boat trip etc. and it still worked. Unless it is excluded this time by T&Cs specifically (I doubt it would be), it should work fine.

  • Pawel Siewko says:

2 platinum 2 BA premium and 1 costco card

    any Amex travel offer ….:(
bad what offer cloning doesn’t work now…..

  • Leo says:

Thanks for that – deals with my query above.

  • reds says:

OT : Hoping to refer my OH for a Platinum card from my BAPP.
    Is this possible?
Click on my referral link and can only see the basic BA card on ‘other cards’ section.
    Thanks.
