Etihad has launched a one week long promotion from UK airports

Etihad has launched a one week long promotion with special fares from the UK to Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

Lead prices from Heathrow in Business are:

Kuala Lumpur from £2256

Seychelles from £2923

Melbourne from £2983

Some of these destinations are currently cheaper with British Airways (our article about the BA sale is here) with the Seychelles being around £1,000 more on Etihad.  That said, the Etihad Business Class Studio – website here, Rob’s review here – is way ahead of Club World.

The Economy fares look better with London to Brisbane from £650, London to Beijing from £436, London to Hong Kong from £447 and Manchester to Dubai from £334.

Flights have to be booked by 8th September for travel between 22nd September 2018 and 30th June 2019, with departures from either Heathrow or Manchester.  Etihad’s website is here. In addition, if you are not already an Etihad Guest member, you can sign up here and receive 500 bonus miles.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (December 2021)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.  These are:

• The Platinum Card from American Express (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 30,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 30,000 Etihad Guest miles.

• American Express Rewards credit card (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 5,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 5,000 Etihad Guest miles. This card is FREE for life.

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.
