Hilton Honors has just launched its new Autumn promotion which is now open for registration.

To give Hilton credit, it is very straightforward with minimal small print:

You will earn DOUBLE Hilton Honors base points for every stay between 10th September and 3rd January.

Even better, at luxury and resort hotels you will earn TRIPLE base points.

Hilton Honors double points Autumn 2018

There is no cap to what you can earn and there are no minimum stay requirements.  It really couldn’t be simpler.  For most brands, you will earn 10 base points per $1 spent, plus an additional 10 promotional points (20 at luxury and resort hotels), plus any status bonus.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your spending here – especially if you are also earning a status bonus and/or are at a ‘luxury or resort hotel’.

You can register for the offer here.

There is no small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website:

There is no minimum stay requirement

Existing bookings still count

All Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf-Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part – there is no list of non-participating hotels – except for Hampton properties in China

Remember that the Home2 Suites and Tru brands earn a lower 5 base points per $1.

Hilton Honors double points Autumn 2018

What is a ‘luxury or resort hotel’ offering triple points?

Basically, it seems to be:

  • Any Conrad hotel
  • Any Waldorf Astoria hotel
  • Any other hotel with ‘resort’ in its name!

Hilton has put together a special website featuring the qualifying hotels which you can find here.

There are 243 hotels earning triple points out of over 5,000 Hilton Honors properties.

This offer will work alongside the excellent Lufthansa offer

Don’t forget the exceptionally generous Hilton / Lufthansa promotion too.  This offers 2,500 Miles & More miles – worth £25 in my book if used for long-haul redemptions – on EVERY Hilton cash booking, however cheap, until 31st October.

This offer works on top of your double points – you don’t need to choose.

You can find out more on the Hilton / Lufthansa offer here and register here.

And remember that Hilton is still offering a status match

If you have top tier status with another hotel programme, Hilton Honors will give you a 90 day free trial of Hilton Diamond or Gold status.

You need to supply a screenshot showing your top tier status in another programme plus a screenshot showing a paid stay in the previous 12 months.

If you complete eight stays (note it is stays, not nights) during the 90 days you will keep your Diamond status until 31st March 2020.  If you only manage four stays you will receive Gold status until 31st March 2020.

Conclusion

‘Double or triple base points’ is a decent offer and you should make sure you register here if you have any Hilton stays coming up over the next three months.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 3rd January.

Let’s see what IHG and Marriott / Starwood launch to compete with this ….

Sorry for the slightly basic question, just trying to get my maths right.

If I spend say $1,000 at a Hilton “luxury” resort and I have gold status, am I right in thinking that the maths is as follows:

    $1,000 x 10 = 10,000 base points
Plus 20,000 bonus points under this promotion
    = 30,000 points
Plus 80% bonus due to gold status = an extra 24,000 points

    Grand total: 30,000 plus 24,000 = 54,000 points.

    Does that look right?

    • EwanG says:

Gold bonus points will be on base spend i.e. 80% of 10,000 giving 8,000 for that element and an overall total of 38,000

      • Hsergio10 says:

With a budget of $1000-$1500ish you can get additional points depending on how you splits your nights or stays

I early booked few stays at Conrad London and New York for stays around mid October, mid November and end of December. I was able to get best flexible rate on average of $275 a night)

1)There is an additional 5000 points per for two nights stay using the code PBK5P1 at any participating Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts or Conrad Hotels & Resorts.

        2) You can also use PBK2P1 to earn 2,000 bonus points per night (max 8,000 bonus points per stay).

Both Offer are valid for stays booked and completed between February 26, 2018 and December 31, 2018 (“Promotional Period”)

Being Diamond, i’m anticipating total points of 50K

No, Plus 10.000 bonus points under this promotion, 10,000 base, 10,000 extra, 8,000 due to gold ststus

      • Adam says:

Sorry, did not read through your message as it is a “luxury” one, 20.000 bonus, 10.000 base, 8.000 due to gold status = 38.000

Hilton / Lufthansa promotion has been down all day

  • Jamie says:

How long are the Lufthansa Miles typically taking to post after a Hilton stay? Thanks

  • Robert says:

Why is it that the offer appears nowhere on their website?

    • Rob says:

There is still 10 days of the current double points promo – I guess they don’t want people registering for the wrong one.

OT – any news of an IHG accelerate for Q3?

  • Nick_C says:

In response to a couple of comments about earning points on incidental expenditure:-

“Does my incremental spend on things like room service count towards my Bonus Points?

Yes. Additional spend on room service or other services charged to the room will count towards earning Bonus Points; however, additional spend on services at Hampton by Hilton™, Tru by Hilton™, Homewood Suites by Hilton®, and Home2 Suites by Hilton® will not count towards earning Bonus Points.”
