A new useless American Express Membership Rewards transfer partner

Good news – American Express is bringing in a new Membership Rewards transfer partner

Bad news – it could not be less interesting

The new partner is, erm, Aer Lingus Avios.  Yes, someone went to all the trouble of negotiating a transfer deal with Aer Lingus – even though you can already move your Amex points to British Airways Executive Club and move them across to avios.com / Aer Lingus from there.

Well done.  Your parents are proud of you.  Why don’t you get on the ‘phone to Hyatt instead …..?

The only possible upside I can see here is that there may be a transfer bonus to launch this new partnership, which would allow us to move our Membership Rewards points to Aer Club with an uplift and then across to British Airways Executive Club.

The partnership launches “imminently” in the US and “later this year” for those of us in the UK.

You can see the list of current Membership Rewards airline partners here and the current hotel partners transfer list here.
