With Virgin Australia about to launch its new Hong Kong to Sydney service on 2nd July, it has announced a codeshare deal with Virgin Atlantic.
The codeshare also covers the existing Hong Kong to Melbourne service.
When buying a cash ticket, you will now be able to buy a combined Virgin Atlantic / Virgin Australia ticket from London via Hong Kong to Sydney or Melbourne. You can also book to Cairns, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Hobart and the Gold Coast with an additional Virgin Australia connection.
With all flights on one ticket, your baggage will be automatically transferred and you will be looked after if your inbound flight is delayed.
You can also redeem your Virgin Flying Club miles on Virgin Australia – take a look on the Flying Club website here. It isn’t clear if you will be able to use miles, either online or more realistically via the call centre, to book UK to Australia on a single ticket.
