Get triple Etihad Guest miles with Accor hotel stays

If you collect Etihad Guest miles, there is a decent Accor hotel promotion running. This covers Mercure, Ibis, Sofitel, Pullman, M Gallery, Novotel etc.

You will receive triple Etihad Guest miles on stays booked and consumed by 30th June.

Your Accor account must be set to automatically transfer points to Etihad after each stay. Note that if you have over 2,000 Accor points in your account they will automatically be sent to Etihad Guest when you change the settings on your account (and not tripled) so don’t do this if that isn’t your plan.

The standard Etihad Guest earning rate is 1 mile for every 2 Le Club AccorHotels points earned, which will triple to 3 miles for every 2 Accor points under this offer.

Points earning varies by brand and status but a non-status member will generally receive 2 Accor points per €1 spent, which would mean – under this offer – getting 3 Etihad Guest miles per €1.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (December 2021)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card. However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards. These are:

American Express Preferred Rewards Gold (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 20,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 20,000 Etihad Guest miles. This card is FREE for your first year and also comes with two free airport lounge passes.

The Platinum Card from American Express (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 30,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 30,000 Etihad Guest miles.

American Express Rewards credit card (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 5,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 5,000 Etihad Guest miles. This card is FREE for life.

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate. The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.

Etihad Guest is also a partner with the HSBC Premier Mastercard (0.5 miles per £1 spent) and HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard (1 mile per £1 spent).

Morning all, for the Virgin/Avis deal, does the 3+ days mean hiring for at least 72 hours or can it mean hiring on Friday evening and returning on Sunday morning. Also, if I chose to hire for 72+ hours but returned the car early, would this matter? thanks

  I put pick up time earlier and when I dropped off asked them to close it in a few hours to ensure I had the full 3 days. The branch should not have a problem with this.

  It just states that it has to be 3 days and does not specify that it needs to be 72 hours. Ergo, rentals that charge the 3 days rate but are under 72 hours should qualify. However, if Avis automatically apply the points is 50/50 so it may require you to send emails back and forth.

It will be interesting to see if LHR to SYD does become possible to book with miles.
You can of course get LHR to Melbourne on VFC Miles for as little as 25k + £202 one way on economy via USA.

      Hi Mike, sorry yes my reply was unclear. It is a direct redemption i.e. search LHR – MEL in the Virgin app.
      
      The above price that I mentioned is the lowest off-peak economy price, I suspect. I’ve just done a search for 14th August, and London to Melbourne one way (Upper Class with Virgin to Atlanta, then First Class to Delta) is 80,000 VFC miles and £375. For a return it is 160k VFC miles and £537.41.

You can never be sure. In general multiple transactions do trigger these deals but you can’t rely on it.

Data point : my 5500 bonus did not initially post, so I emailed to say post them. They emailed back two weeks later saying that I hadn’t added a virgin AWD so they “couldn’t” do it. I replied with copied and pasted offer terms that made no mention to it, and mysteriously it was now possible to give me the points! 3 days later they hit my virgin account.

So yes some pushes may be required but they have posted.
