  Re Ch5 – you would think ‘more like this’ would include the next 2 programmes which really are ‘like this’ – Inside the Situation Room (when MH370 went missing) at 10pm and The Secret Life of the Long Haul Flight (following an A380 flight from London to Sydney) at 1105pm.

  OT:

  Booked 2 flights to Bahamas (Nassau) next year the other day to take advantage of my 2 for 1 voucher. Was surprised by the cost of the tickets as have paid £375 each for the outbound and then it looks like it will be a similar cost for the return also. Pricing as a return will be about £615pp. Is this normal? On previous business returns to Singapore, Hong Kong, USA I’m sure the returns are about £450 pp.

  Also – to add the voucher to the booking which I haven’t done so far – do I need to book the inbound flights as one-way and then call up to get them to combine the bookings and add the voucher?

  Was nearly caught out by the flights being released at 1am UK time rather than midnight but luckily they were still available in the morning.

    Booked a CW redemption to Seychelles recently and the taxes + charges came to £585, not too far off your figure.

      @Gavin – I have been looking at SEZ availability for 2019 but it does not seem to come up on BA redemption finder or the BA App. Any advice on how you managed to find avios availability for this route. Also are they releasing reward availability for ‘scheduled’ flights 355 days in advance for SEZ?

        I couldn’t find that aiport on the availability checker, but if you do a dummy booking it seems to come up.

        No – it isn’t recognised in Reward Flight Finder on the BA website either (amongst many other things not working on the BA website) – it is recognised in Search and Book but then you have to go through each day at a time.

      SEZ flight is only two times a week Wed/Sat out, Thu/Sun back. So need to search accordingly. Have booked for next year recently on Avios.com with Lloyds voucher. From what I’ve seen, CW shows bang on 355 days and then it gets snapped up pretty quickly, so you need to act fast. Taxes are steep indeed compared to some other OW airlines. However, you do get to fly direct. Other options to consider is BA to Doha and then Qatar to SEZ. It saves maybe £100 on taxes per person. If I remember correctly Qatar to SEZ is only 20k avios return in economy (short 4-5h flight).

    They are released at midnight GMT, so you have to adjust for British Summer Time.

  This is quite a low offer with the Hp cartridges this time right? I’m pretty sure, lastvtime there was circa 500 Ccp for cartridge as I got over 10,000 Virgin mikes for £55!!!
