  My understanding is that OWE/BA Golds will be able to use the middle tier? ‘Tea, ant’ a foldy chair ant’ Emmerdale luv’ OR ‘Tea, ant’ a foldy chair with a pumfee, ant’ Last o’ Summer Wine luv’ OR ‘Yorkshire tea and a bit of fizzy pop luv’ pretty much explains the tiers. 🙂

  Also, on footrests: in GF, the champagne area has lost them to be replaced them with a chair to each table. Much smarter. After a decade nearly… And the reupholstered seats two years ago. Champagne has been ‘upgraded’ too… though I suspect this is more due to supplier issues than a permanent change.

  The headline bus into the airport hype a bit. The existing LBA lounge is already effectively two parts. One is allocated for business travelers and the other for all travelers including families.

  This announcement seems to be that there will be a new more premium lounge and that process for the business only area are increasing.

  Since LBA was privatised is various owners have focused on increasing revenues from passengers. Charging to drop off outside the terminal etc. Since there are few flights with business class products most users of the lounges are paying cash. This seems to be a means to charge them more.

  In summary – one more lounge and higher fees.

    Although the current lounge is two sections isn’t the access fee the same for each section? Now each tier has a higher price.

      Yes it, is currently 2 identical lounges with the same price and a single entry point. When you arrive they decide if you are allowed to go right or left . . .

        Recently they have had everyone in the business section- been overcrowded with shortage of seats . I have been going to sit alone in the tourist section to get some peace and quiet.

  No entry after 6pm seems a bit silly for a lounge that’s open for another two hours. It also means if you’re on the 6.50pm BA flight you have to arrive at least an hour early or you risk being shut out of the lounge before the flight.

    I doubt that’s really going to be the case! The last slot you can book (if a paying guest) will be 6pm, but I doubt they’ll turn away people who are eligible when the lounge is still open. Their online booking page has always said 6pm as the final time. It’s been a while since I’ve used LBA but there was no issue getting in after 6pm and I’m sure that’ll still be the case.

  I think the OH is flying out LBA-RIX on Wednesday on FR. Will ask her to grab a few shots of the Yorkshire Lounge as she’ll have her PP / Plat.

  I can’t believe they have found room for 3 lounges. I regularly go through LBA and I can’t think where they have found the space to put these lounges.
  The current lounge is usually empty at most times of day. Personally I can’t see all three lounges lasting too long
