New Lufthansa Miles & More miles subscription offer with The Economist

As Miles & More miles are harder to collect in the UK than Avios, it’s worth taking a look at the current promotion with The Economist.  It is, however, worse than their previous offers.

If you subscribe by 28th February you can earn up to 7,600 Miles & More miles depending on whether you want to read the magazine digitally, on paper or both.

There are three options:

Print Only or Digital Only for £145 each: 5,800 miles (was 8,700 miles last year)

Print and Digital for £179: 7,600 miles (was 11,400 miles last year)

You are technically paying 2.5p per mile when subscribing to either the print or the digital version.  If you choose the print and digital package you will pay 2.4p per mile – and in both cases you will obviously get the magazine on top.

This is too much money per mile if you are not at all interested in reading The Economist. If you were to buy a subscription anyway, this is an ok deal.  If you are self-employed you should also be able to write off the subscription as a business expense.
