  Had a wonderful trip over from ‘London’ Southend airport on a FlyBE Embraer. Must say, Southend is a joyful airport to get to and fly from – highly recommended.

    Us too..has not stopped raining since we got here…but looking forward to using our 241 in F to kul and mas J to Bali end of Jan. Can’t wait.

  A brief story for HFP readers. This year I had a couple of holidays booked using a combination of redemption miles etc using several airlines etc, and some cash purchases, including a family holiday to Orlando in October. Sadly, unexpectedly, in July my wife was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Though she was medically able to travel we wanted to stay at home with family. Contacting the various companies explaining the circumstances, namely BA, Virgin, Flybe, Delta, Hotels.com, Premier Inn, Hilton, we received full refunds whether points, taxes, fees or cash from them all. In many cases we weren’t entitled to fee free refunds or indeed any refunds. The travel companies all really helped us out, with little effort, even though breaching their own T&Cs. Fortunately my wife’s tumour was removed in Sept, it was benign and she is well on the road to a full recovery. We travel to Orlando in 4 days time for a 3 week break, unsurprisingly our business is with the same companies as listed above. Hopefully this is a positive story for you all Christmas Day, my best wishes to everyone.
