You can finally earn and burn Le Club AccorHotels points at Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel

Back in 2016, French group Accor bought (from the same owner) the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel hotel brands.  In one swoop it added a number of impressive high end properties, including The Savoy in London and The Plaza in New York.

As always with hotel acquisitions, it has taken a while for Accor to get its IT act together.  It has now announced that the three brands will fully participate in Le Club AccorHotels from 2nd July 2018, sitting alongside Novotel, Ibis, Mercure, Sofitel, Pullman etc.

This means that:

you will earn Le Club AccorHotels points at these three brands

you will be able to redeem your Le Club AccorHotels points for vouchers to spend at these brands (the rate is fixed at 1 point = 2 Eurocents)

nights spent at these three chains will count for Le Club AccorHotels status

your Le Club status benefits will be recognised at these brands

Accor has confirmed that stays between 1st January and 1st July which are credited to either Fairmont Presidents Club or Swissotel Circle will be merged into your Le Club account room nights total for 2018.

The existing Fairmont and Swissotel schemes will be closed on 2nd July.

It is a shame that all of us who had free top-tier Le Club AccorHotels Platinum status via American Express Platinum are going to lose it for good on 31st December.  Accor also tightened up the rules this year on what sort of points counted towards status, making it tougher to requalify.  And now there are a large swathe of high quality hotels where you could use it …..
