Heading to Gatwick? Good myGatwick deals including free Regus lounge access

My first flight for 2019 will be out of Gatwick in a few days time, drones permitting.  I could have used Heathrow, but as you will see from the articles when I get back there were a couple of reasons why Gatwick was preferable this time.

I dug out my myGatwick log-in to see what discounts and deals are available to me.  MyGatwick is a freebies and discounts site run by the airport which few people know about.  You can create an account and log in here.

The key offer at the moment for anyone flying out of the South Terminal, used by British Airways, is free use of the (landside) Regus Business Lounge for an hour.

Gatwick

You must enter your flight details on the myGatwick site in order to see all offers.  The site is tailored to your travel plans, showing you available offers for either the North or South Terminal after you’ve input your travel details.

The deals you get after entering flight information are theoretically tailored.  The list below is what I was offered for a flight next week from the South Terminal and I would expect most people to get the same:

10% off Official Gatwick Parking

20% off Gatwick Premium Security

20% off Premium Passport Control

Up to 10% off at No 1 Lounges

Free teddy bear with a £100 Dixons Travel spend (!)

Free gyoza at Wagamama when you buy something via ‘Reserve and Collect’ at Dixons Travel (who thinks of these things?!)

Various offers at WH Smith (£5 off when you spend £20 on books, 50p off a meal deal)

£20 off at Sunglass Hut

Various food deals at WonderTree and Joes

Free lounge access at Regus Express (closed at weekends) – you can have one hour of free access to the Business Centre lounges, which are LANDSIDE in both the North and South terminals

The Regus Express lounges are not bad places to hang out.  They are mainly designed for working, not lounging, but they offer free tea and coffee and usually a selection of newspapers and magazines.

It is worth noting that I wasn’t offered any hotel deals.  Historically both YOTEL Gatwick (which Anika reviewed here) and BLOC (reviewed here) offered deals via myGatwick but those seem to have ended.

You can sign up for myGatwick at their website here.

Happy New Year one and all from cloudy, windy Da Nang!

  • Dawid says:

It’s definitely worth visiting new My lounge in Gatwick south. You can get access either by flying with Norwegian airline or Dragon Pass. Alternatively if you lucky and No1 lounge is full they will give you complimentary access instead

  • vol says:

Ooooh thanks for the lounge heads up

I’m actually going on a trip which involves a few Iberia flights over a few days (part of the Iberia Avios Bonanza, just as a short break)

I’ve been spoiled by all the lounge access I get now, and I wasn’t getting any lounge access this time as these are cheap flights

But now, I will be using a lounge (even if is only an hour 😁)

Incidentally – what happens after an hour?

I have this scenario in my head:

    “Attention! Attention!

Can A N Other leave the Regus Lounge
    Immediately

    Woop Woop Woop”

    🤦‍♂️

Perhaps it’s like the swimming baths and you get a coloured wrist band and they flash the colour up when it’s time to leave

  • Doogie says:

I’ve got a Gatwick flight on Thursday and pretty much the same plus 20% off Holiday Taxis.

    Regus small print says
Not availble on Saturday or Sunday
Show voucher on arrival to redeem.
Only valid at Regus Express Gatwick South Terminal Arrivals and customers new to Regus.
    Valid until 31 December 2019

As I wrote in comments here earlier, my partner and I used Regus lounge on 21 December when our D8 flight was delayed by 6hrs. Smooth in-app booking process and surprisingly empty lounge while lots of pax’s were flocking in the terminal. We had nice seats, free tea and coffee (and some fruit which however started to go off) and were watching Gatwick chaos on TV (quite a surreal experience I should admit!)

Are there any pay for lounges at LHR T4 does anyone know? My brother is flying QR tomorrow so wanted to let him know.
    Thanks
Happy New Year everyone. And I do hope Harry comes back in style!

    • Lady London says:

Plaza Premium has lounge at T4 as well as other terminals. Plaza Premium are my most preferred pay-for lounges globally.

      • Lady London says:

T4 has both Arrival and Departure lounges that are Plaza Premium.

  • TripRep says:

Thanks for the reminder on the BLOC review, looking for a LGW hotel and the rabbit warren that is Hilton Gatwick is wanting £130+ for a booking 11 months out!

    • @mkcol says:

Even with the public sector employee discount code?

      • TripRep says:

PSC Not valid on date reqd. Also Sale prices don’t show either.

Price has now dropped to £127.

      • TripRep says:

Bloc is £85 for a window room, might give it a whirl as flying BA.

        • Lady London says:

Premier Inns at lgw highly rated. People have told me pricing can be excellent esp if booked ahead.

  • Ali says:

“Free gyoza at Wagamama when you buy something via ‘Reserve and Collect’ at Dixons Travel”

    Brilliant.

    • Lady London says:

Yes it’s brilliant. Waga’s will get you in their door. Where you will surely spend for more than just gyoza. They’ve taken a bet that the Dixons-purchaser-at-airports demographic overlaps the Waga’s demographic to a useful extent and they are probably right.

  • Tom says:

I second the Premier Inn at LGW North Terminal. Significantly cheaper than the other hotels that are at the terminals – you don’t have to pay for a lot of stuff you don’t need.

I usually eat at the Wetherspoons in the South Terminal.

No use for a land-side lounge unless I am meeting someone and then I can’t use it anyway
