Which British Airways European routes do not offer lounge access?

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

On Saturday we ran a review of the ANA lounge at Porto airport.  This is notable because – whilst it is the only lounge at Porto – British Airways refuses to pay for Club Europe or status passengers to use it.

(If you read HfP by email, you didn’t receive this review because I felt it was a bit of a niche topic to drop into 10,000 inboxes.  You can read the article here.)

Courtesy of Flyertalk, I have a list of all British Airways short-haul destinations which do not offer lounge access.  This is a great bit of crowd sourcing work from the FT community. Keep this list in mind next time you book a trip and are considering whether to upgrade to Club Europe or not.

  • Simon says:

Remember that Olbia lounge allows access when flying BA charter (usually weekends) but not BA scheduled. That made it even more annoying for some reason!

  • Harry says:

The Priority Pass Lounge at Catania is very small with very little by way of food and drink offerings but head straight for it; it beats the crowded and noisy terminal by a long way.

  • Egg says:

    hehe – Bordeaux lounge.
Was going to go in there… then saw the review & photos.

  • Jeff says:

No access to the lounge in Porto for Silver, also no priority security lane for silver. Wasn’t 100% clear to me but believe there is an access for Gold.

  • Mike Boyle says:

You can add Kefalonia to the list that has no lounge. You can walk 50m out of the airport gates once you have checked in to some pleasant restaurants.

  • Chris Devereux says:

I’m flying out of Madeira FNC next month in CE, so it looks like I’ll have to use my Lounge Club access (2 free with Amex Gold). Do I need to do anything/register first, or just show my Lounge Club card? How do they know if I’ve used my 2 free passes already?

    • Stevie G says:

Show you lounge club card on entry and they will know if you have used your 2 free entries.

  • K says:

Providenciales is missing – they have no lounges

  • Marco says:

Does BA have to cover reasonable expenses for food/drinks if no lounge access is given, either when flying Club or as a Silver/Gold member? Or do the T&Cs specify lounge access “only where available”?
