Peak season BA World Traveller Plus to the Middle East from £422

We don’t feature many World Traveller Plus deals on Head for Points, mainly because there aren’t many of them around, but this one is worth a look.
Some interesting British Airways fares from Amsterdam to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Muscat in World Traveller Plus have been spotted.
Whilst you will need to travel to Amsterdam to start your trip, you do NOT need to return there. You can book the return directly back to London, or with a connection to Glasgow, Manchester or any other BA domestic destination.
For absolute clarity – you must take the first flight from Amsterdam. Your ticket will be cancelled immediately if you don’t.
You obviously don’t get a flat bed with World Traveller Plus. However, at least with the Dubai route, you can book yourself on a day flight in both directions so it isn’t so painful.
As well as getting an excellent fare, these trips will earn 180 tier points (90 + 90) for the World Traveller Plus legs, plus another 5 or 10 depending on what the Amsterdam leg books into.
Here is a typical Dubai fare which comes out at €557 (£515) – click to enlarge:
Muscat in Oman is even cheaper at €457 (£422):
Bookings these is a bit complex, unfortunately.
Step 1 – visit ba.com and, on the home page, click ‘Multicity / Stopover’
Step 2 – on that booking page, put in ‘Amsterdam to (your choice of) Dubai / Muscat / Abu Dhabi’ as flight 1
Step 3 – put in ‘(your choice from) Dubai / Mucat / Abu Dhabi to (your choice from) London / Glasgow / Manchester etc’ as flight 2 – note that you must be away over a Saturday night
Step 4 – on the next page, you will see various flight combinations shown. The snag is that these are not priced. All you can do is play around with them to try to get a price near to €500-€550
As per the comments, what you can do to make it easy to find the cheap dates is to search initially for a return from and to Amsterdam. This will show the individual price for each leg. If you can get a return for around €600-€700 it should drop to €450-€550 when you use ‘multi-city’ and return to London.
I can’t find the full fare rules because I cannot replicate this fare in the ITA Matrix tool. This means that I don’t know how long you have to book, and I don’t know what periods you can travel in. Which is helpful.
However, if you’re looking for some Middle Eastern sun this Autumn the deal is worth a look. Pop over to ba.com and have a play around.
PS. If you want a hotel deal, here is our review of the Hilton Salalah Resort in Oman, a resort which is only 5,000 Hilton Honors points per night.
