Avios Ireland: 200 Avios via SuperValu for (almost) every eShop purchase

As a reminder, our coverage of Avios Ireland (AerClub) is exclusively on the Head for Points website.  You will not receive these articles via our daily emails unless it is a deal which UK residents can take part in.

We have written about the relationship between Irish supermarket chain SuperValu and AerClub a few times.

Basically, 1 SuperValu Real Rewards point (which you get for spending €1 instore) converts into 1 Avios point.

Until 10th August, you will receive 200 bonus Real Rewards points for EVERY online shopping transaction made via SuperValu eShops.  This contains over 100 retailers.

This time around, SuperValu has brought in some exclusions.  The following merchants do not count: eBay, AliExpress, GearBest, iTunes SuperValu Getaway Breaks, SuperValu Home, Travel and Car Insurance and SuperValu Online Grocery Shopping. Last time there were also tracking issues with ebooks bought via Kobo.

Because you can earn the bonus an unlimited number of times, there may be some potential here for multiple purchases of low value items.

Don’t forget that AerClub is offering a TRIPLE bonus on transfers of SuperValu points to Avios before 31st August.  If your 200 bonus points arrive in time then you’d be getting 600 Avios for every SuperValu eShops purchase.  However, this is unlikely for most products as transactions will not validate until the deadline for returning the product for a refund has passed.
