50% bonus on Heathrow Rewards transfers to Virgin – sign-up promo worth 4,500 miles

Heathrow Rewards, the loyalty scheme for shopping at Heathrow, has launched a 50% bonus on transfers to Virgin Flying Club.

The offer is clearly flagged on the Heathrow Rewards site when you log in. This offer ONLY applies to Virgin Flying Club and does not apply to:

The bonus applies to all transfers to Virgin Flying Club made before 24th April.

You can currently earn 3,000 Heathrow Rewards points by opening an account and spending £150 in one day.

You can combine these two deals as long as you do your qualifying spend in the next 3 weeks or so.

Open a Heathrow Rewards account, spend £150 in a day and you will receive your 3,000 points. Convert these to Virgin Flying Club and you will receive 4,500 miles!

    Only if the retailer is “online”… you could use Curve rewards to BOB on BA, or take the tube, with insufficient balance and the remainder will eventually get charged to one of the other cards.

      Wasn’t sure what happened in delayed approval setups. Certainly when using in store you either need to get them to do a till split, or make it for the same/less than the Rewards balance.

So 0.67p/mile, not bad but only slightly less than the 0.75p I value them at – any higher bonuses in the recent past? If not I may just transfer them, hardly ever shop in LHR so I’m unlikely to use them there.

I need to go to Heathrow on Tuesday and in my previous experience the digital card has not worked. Can I pick up a paper card at the airport and then apply the offer or do I need to actually set up the account online first?

  You can register a paper card later – if you do it same day it will be done before transaction posts anyway.

You can only transfer points to a Flying Club account in your own name. Requests for a transfer to another person’s Flying Club account are not permitted. Only one Virgin Atlantic redemption per day is permitted up to a maximum of 20 rewards equivalent to 5000 Flying Club miles. Please contact Customer service if you wish to redeem more than 5000 Flying Club miles. By submitting your request for Flying Club miles you are agreeing that Heathrow Rewards will pass your personal details to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club so that they can apply the miles to your account.
