There are two generous Lufthansa Miles & More offers running at the moment – they may be worth a look if you were also considering getting their credit card (the offer for 10,000 bonus miles ends today).

The first deal is yet another attempt to persuade people to try out the new Lufthansa hotel booking site.

This month the offer is in English as well as German, handily.

Lufthansa A340

You will receive at least 8,000 miles for making a two-night hotel booking.  You need to book by the end of the year although the stay can be for a later date.

The miles are made up of a 6,000 mile bonus and a minimum earning rate for your stay of 1,000 miles per night.  It is only valid for ‘first time’ bookers on the Miles & More hotel booking portal.

Given that you can easily value Miles & More miles at 1p each, and that they can be tricky to pick up, this is a decent deal if you have a stay coming up.  The only thing to remember is that you won’t earn points from the hotel itself and you may not even receive any elite benefits due to you.

The page to book your hotel is here.

And an Economist deal …..

Lufthansa has also brought back a new Miles & More deal for Economist subscriptions.

These are no longer refundable part-way through the year so your subscription is a sunk cost.  It is still an attractive offer though:

  • 11,400 miles for a £179 ‘print and digital’ subscription
  • 8,700 miles for a £145 print subscription
  • 8,700 miles for a £145 digital subscription

The subscription page is here.  The offer runs until the end of January.

Has anyone managed to get the Economist offer twice? I’ve signed up for it using M&M promo and then cancelled about a year ago, and would like to get the bonus miles again, but not sure if they will consider me new.
