Radisson Rewards is running a global double points promotion until 19th December 2021. You can read our article here and you can register here.
Club Carlson, the Radisson / Park Inn / Park Plaza loyalty scheme, has launched a ‘double points or double status credits’ promotion. This is running until the end of the year.
The offer is relatively straightforward and potentially lucrative.
You must then choose between:
double base points (taking you to 40 points per $1) on all Club Carlson stays until 31st December
or
double elite night credit (but NOT double stay credit) on all Club Carlson stays until 31st December, capped at 20 bonus night credits per stay
The last point requires some clarification. You can qualify for Club Carlson status based on either nights or stays. For example:
Silver status requires 15 nights or 10 stays
Gold status requires 35 nights or 20 stays
Concierge status requires 75 nights or 30 stays
This promotion will only give you double elite night credits so it is only useful if you are hoping to requalify on nights vs stays.
For most people, double points will be more valuable. (If you do want Club Carlson status, remember that the American Express Platinum charge card comes with Club Carlson Gold for as long as you keep the card.)
Following the devaluation last year, I tend to value Club Carlson points at around 0.33p each when used for high-end properties. 40 points per $ – equivalent to 50 points per £1 – means a rebate of around 16p for every £1 you spend. If you get an elite status bonus on top it will be an even better deal.
This promotion cannot be combined with the Radisson RED deal we discussed the other day, so if you are heading to Brussels you will ‘only’ receive triple points and not triple points plus double points!
Don’t forget to register and select your choice of double points or double nights credit.
How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (December 2021)
Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards. These include:
- American Express Preferred Rewards Gold (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 20,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 60,000 Radisson Rewards points. This card is FREE for your first year and also comes with two free airport lounge passes.
- The Platinum Card from American Express (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 30,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 90,000 Radisson Rewards points
- American Express Rewards credit card (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 5,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 15,000 Radisson Rewards points. This card is FREE for life.
Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate. The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.
Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Gold status for as long as they hold the card. It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status. We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.
