The September British Airways sale will be running until the 21st. Just for this weekend – until Tuesday to be precise – there is an additional discount if you book a BA Holidays package.
£50 off flight + hotel bookings over £1,250
£100 off flight + hotel bookings over £2,500
£25 off flight + car bookings over £600
£50 off flight + car bookings over £1,250
£100 off flight+ car bookings over £2,500
You must book by midnight on Tuesday 13th September for travel between 15th September 2016 and 30th June 2017.
There are some excellent reasons to book a BA Holidays package instead of booking a standalone flight and then a hotel or car separately.
These include:
IT CAN BE CHEAPER. You will often pay less for a ‘flight and hotel’ or ‘flight and car’ booking than just for the flight. This is because British Airways sells you a different – cheaper – sort of flight ticket (don’t worry, you still get Avios and tier points!) which is made exclusively available to travel agents.
YOU ONLY PAY A DEPOSIT NOW. The balance is not due until five weeks before departure. You can pay installments at any point – you can split the cost across numerous credit cards if necessary, unlike a straight ‘flight only’ booking.
BONUS AVIOS. By booking a ‘flight and hotel’ or ‘flight and car’ package, you get an extra bonus. You receive 2 Avios per £1 for your booking. This is in addition to the Avios from the flight and from your credit card spend.
But there is one downside:
NO ON BUSINESS POINTS. Flights booked via BA Holidays do not qualify for On Business points in the BA small business scheme.
The home page for the sale offers is here. If you had been thinking about booking something in for the Winter or next Easter, now is a good chance to have a look. The extra discount is available until Tuesday.
