  Hi Raffles, the Yorkshire Premier lounge at LBA has been a Priority Pass lounge for years (and a pretty good lounge IMO). Your reference and link to the newly added PP lounge is at Doncaster Sheffield airport ??

    I’ve used the flights a couple of times over the last year and they have always seemed pretty full. My use being connecting to long haul, looks to me like they want to capture more of the Leeds/London market from the train.

    See table 12. It says traffic is up 24% compared to last year.

  Jumping to conclusions suggesting the route may be struggling. As mentioned by Chris, could easily be an incentive just to attract more Leeds/London passengers if point to point traffic shows more potential. The first flight not arriving at Heathrow until 10:45am isn’t ideal for London bound business passengers either. Connecting traffic always seems healthy on the route.

  I have taken the early morning flight to LHR from LBA a number of times, each time using Avios – the flights have always been busy, it’s nothing special. Full of people getting connecting flights…

  Stopping flying though, by the time i have got a lift or driven to LBA from York, checked in early – gone to the lounge, flown, picked up my bags at the other end – I may as well have caught the train as it’s less than 2hours from York to London + the connection to LHR… I am sure overall it’s quicker..

  This would be a good marking thing for Virgin trains to use as marketing! (saves time and money) – If you see this Virgin, my idea is very cheap 🙂

  LBA-LHR was my first ever flight way back in the 80s.

  It was great to have a window seat and see the Pennines from the air as the flight path was across to Manchester and then south to Heathrow.
