Just for the benefit of those who may be considering visiting Thailand for the first time but may be put off by idea of squat loos: they are now few and far between, and in the places they still have them they often have at least one western toilet too. In general, Thai public toilets are of a substantially higher standard with better maintenance and cleaning than what we are typically faced with in the west.

Good morning James, good to know that we have a HFP expert on “Loos in Asia” 🙂 .

It seems that Mr Attaporn’s Member’s recovery is going well and that he is grateful for the support of Members of his Family.

It also seems that he intends to ‘swap” his “squat” loo for a sit down one- and I am wondering whether the main safety advantage of this would be the U-bend??

The only squat down loo “experience” I can recall is when Mrs Gummidge and I travelled from SIN-KUL by train(1st class a couple of years ago)- I was OK using the facility, however I remember Mrs Gummidge remarking on return that it was a good job she has strong thighs! 🙂 .

  The current promotion is for 18,500 on first transaction and the rest after spending £3k in 90 days.
  
  “18,500 bonus miles will be credited to your Flying Club account after your first card purchase, providing you use either of your cards within 90 days of your account opening and supply your Flying Club membership number to MBNA.
