Double Avios on British Airways flights to Berlin and Hamburg

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

If you need to head over to Germany on business over the next few weeks, you may want to switch from Heathrow to the British Airways services from London City.

You will earn double Avios on BA services from London City to Berlin or Hamburg.

You must book by 31st May but can travel at any point until 31st August.

British Airways Embraer 190 London City

You MUST register in advance via this link.

The following booking classes count:

Club Europe – J, C, D, R

Euro Traveller – Y, B, H, K, M

Note that the cheapest non-refundable tickets are not included.  This promotion is unlikely to have much value to the leisure traveller.  This seems a bit tight, to be honest, given that we would only talking about doubling 125 Avios to 250 Avios in Euro Traveller.

If you click on the flight number shown on ba.com during the booking process, the booking class will be shown.

You must be a British Airways Executive Club member based in the UK, Ireland or Germany to take part.  Your ticket must also be issued in these countries – this could be a problem if your employer uses an offshore corporate travel management group.  I know of previous promotions where people lost bonuses because their tickets had unknowingly been issued in India.

Don’t forget to register here if you are interested.

I contacted BA via twitter and explained that there were other people with the same issue (sent them a link to this page). Their answer:

I’ll pass your feedback to our Web Support team, James. I’ve also spoken to the Executive Club team, who are aware of the website issue and advised you to call them once you’ve completed your flights so they can credit your account. A note has been added to your account. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Unsuccessful here as well, which is fine, my business just went to another airline, which is almost always the case these days when I look at BA.
