Get a free Hotels.com Rewards night credit with a two night stay

Hotels.com is currently running a month-long Easter Sale. As part of this – and for one week only – it is offering a special extra bonus for Hotels.com Rewards collectors.

When you make a booking at hotels.com on your mobile device via the Easter Sale link, you will receive a free extra credit in Hotels.com Rewards.

Here are the rules:

This offer is ONLY valid for bookings made on mobile devices. You do NOT need to download the Hotels.com app – the mobile version of the main website is OK.

You must book for two or more nights

You must book a pre-paid room

You must add coupon code BONUS1 on the payment page

You must book by 22nd March for stays by 30th June

This could work out very nicely.

Because the value of your free night is the average price paid for the 10 qualifying nights, you are effectively getting back 15% of your spending via this offer on a two night stay.

More importantly, if you are working your way towards a free night but are a little short, this offer could push you over the line quickly and release the ‘locked in’ value you have already built up.

Some hotels are often excluded from Hotels.com promotions. I cannot find any list for this offer but, if you follow all the instructions above and the code is still refused, that will be why. I managed to get it working OK last night on a dummy Novotel booking.

Hotels.com bookings do not count for points or stay credit in the loyalty scheme of the chain where you are staying. You may get your status benefits but it is down to the goodwill of the hotel.

A lot of people, however, swear by Hotels.com.

If you don’t care about status benefits, it can make sense to book all of your hotels through them. This is especially true if your travel patterns make it difficult to focus on one specific chain. With Hotels.com, you won’t end up with a handful of worthless points in five or more different loyalty schemes – all of your stays are helping you earn free nights.

You are also free to stay where you want and choose the newest or most convenient hotel at your destination. You never need to compromise because you are building up points with a chain which has no good hotels where you are.

I use hotels.com a lot for their free nights scheme, but most of the comments on here refer to cash back. Is that in addition to the free nights or instead of?

  I’m a fan of hotels.com – recently I noticed the hotel I was due to stay in had dropped their prices on their own website as it got closer to my stay. Hotels.com swiftly matched with no drama or fuss (all sorted within 3hrs very late on a Sunday evening).

    The past three times I have processed a price match with Hotels.com the refund has been auto-confirmed within 30mins and paid within a week. Much easier than trying to price match with Accor or Hilton (in my experience).

There has been intermittent glitches when you can still transfer over to Tesco above the annual limits. I have managed to transfer twice in the last few months, the most recent was last week. Keep checking 🙂

OT is anyone else having problems with Award Wallet since they changed their website layout. I run it every morning and every day it has errors on BAEC, Iberia and Hilton despite deleting the accounts and adding them again. It’s a pain at the moment!

        I’ve just emailed them – told them I’ve deleted account and re-added but still having to manually add password everyday. She’s done something her end and asked me to let her know if it fails again. Will try again tomorrow! Failing that I give up!

I think with hotels.com you have to decide to go one way or the other – either cash back without a promotion code or promotion code and no cash back. Whichever deal works best at the time. Unless others have managed to get both? I’ve just switched from using Avios.com to cash back as I have plenty of miles at the moment. I’ve got three amounts of £25, £22 and £15 pending – I didn’t use any other codes so hoping they will payout at those rates.

I love hotels.com for their earning pottential with Virgin Flying Club; often 12 VS points per £1. In addtion to their Rewards scheme.

    Only a small fraction of my Tesco clubcard points actually come from Tesco grocery. You should look into it a bit more for points earning opportunities.
