      On a similar OT note my 20,000 Avios for the Times subscription posted this morning after they sent an email last week asking for an account number (they would also have taken a BAEC or Iberia account by the looks of the email).

  BA use the AA and CX lounge at CDG in Terminal 2A. The CX lounge was the one you and I used in December.

  The T1 option may be interesting for those flying QR from CDG, as the Galaxy Lounge (formally La Premiere) is poor; fortunately, QR are building their own lounge at T1.

  Still nothing in terminal 2E or 3 at CDG though, which are the terminals I mostly use there. I’ve been flying from Paris quite frequently in recent months; it’s not my favourite airport, but it has cheap flights.

  Just spent the weekend in Paris and flew back from CDG. Used the CX lounge which wasn’t too far from our departure gate for BA (about 5 mins – can’t remember which part of Terminal 2, though) and was very glad we turned up to the airport early! The lounge was lovely and spacious, with a great selection of food (european dishes, as well as a noodle bar for noodle soups made to order).

    Didn’t know there were restrictions on transferring balances from Amex to be honest. I have transferred balances from my BAPP Amex onto HSBC (Premier) Mastercard, Barclays (Hilton) Mastercard and Halifax Mastercard in the past.

  OT – has anyone cancelled their pet insurance poicy yet?

  Don’t fancy the phonecall to be honest – what’s the worst that could happen if I just cancelled the direct debit?

    Best to contact them IMO. Just say that you have found better pet insurance elsewhere.

    I normally just cancel the direct debit & ignore the letters that will follow. However, in this case I don’t like the way they structured the cost as a loan, so I would phone to cancel. Not paying back a loan can adversely affect your credit record if they decide to play nasty. Luckily that looks unlikely as they said policyholders can cancel at any time.

    Just post a letter if you don’t want to have a conversation. Doesn’t need to be any more than “please cancel my policy #1234”.
