    You can – or at least you could, I did it once via Combine My Avios into my BA account.

      Yes you can combine Avios SA with BAEC – your name and email address need to be the same on both accounts but you do not need to have the same domestic address on both accounts

  Talking of Comair, once the new airport has been finished on Ascension Island, it could be a nice little reward flight – fingers crossed for this..

  Currently only option is a £1k RAF flight to Ascension Island vs a <£500 flight to SA (in Y) and then £35ish (hoping for) to Saint Helena. The airport is due to get approval any day now and flights starting in April / May…

  May not be a place for everyone, but i am thinking 4 or 5 days to this hard to visit place, should be amazing…

    I think you’re referring to the new airport on St Helena, ASI has been there for a quite a while now. But you’re right about the new add-on leg from St Helena to Ascension starting when St Helena’s airport opens.

    I was able to visit Ascension last year for a couple of days on the way to the Falkland Islands for business. I hired a car from the only hotel on the island, The Obsidian, and set off to explore. The beaches are great, Green Mountain was fascinating and the people (all 800 of them!) were very warm and friendly. The only other tourists seemed to be those who had come to try their hand at some of the best tuna fishing in the world.

    A fascinating little place, made all the more interesting by its isolation and various uses through history.
