Triple points for UK Accor weekend stays – should apply to Happy Mondays

UPDATE – DECEMBER 2021:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Le Club AccorHotels, the loyalty scheme for Novotel, Ibis, Sofitel, Mercure etc, has launched a triple points offer for weekend stays in the UK.  You can register here.

Accor is already your best bet for UK weekend hotel bookings as long as you are happy to leave your booking to the last minute.  One option is to have a flexible or points booking elsewhere as back-up.

Via Accor’s ‘Happy Mondays’ deal, every Monday and Tuesday, Accor makes a raft of UK hotel rooms available at discount prices for the following weekend.

Accor Happy Mondays

A new Happy Mondays booking link has now appeared – click here – or use the main Accor booking page and the ‘preferential code’ MONDAY.

You can only book on a Monday or Tuesday for the following weekend.   Prices range from £25 for Ibis Budget hotels in London and Ibis hotels outside London, up to £60 for Mercure and Novotel hotels in central London.

The Accor triple points offer

Until 30th April, Accor will give you triple base points on any two or more nights stays covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The rules are a vague about what happens if your stay covers other nights of the week.  Does a Thursday to Sunday stay count?  If so, do you just earn triple points for Friday and Saturday for all three nights?

You must register for this offer via this page on the Accor website.

Because Accor has different earning rates for each brand and tier bonuses, it is too painful to list every possible scenario of what you would earn – but it would be a decent return on your ‘already very low’ ‘Happy Mondays’ rate!

I’ve just gone over 2000 points with Accor and planning to use these for a €40 voucher…

    1) Am I right in thinking that you can’t use these in conjunction with Happy Monday deals?
    2) Can they be used towards additional expenses (i.e. carpark/restaurant) or is it just towards the room cost?

    Thanks!

    • Brian says:

They can be used towards incidentals. However, do remember that the voucher will expire within about 6 months, I believe. Unless you only ever book sale/Happy Monday rates, you might do better to save the points and use them against a booking.

You can use points towards Happy Monday deals, I did so only yesterday.

      • Nick M says:

Thanks, pretty much just Happy Monday deals… I have a sale stay lined up next week which will involve carpark costs and no doubt room service/etc – so will get it sorted for that!

    • Kai says:

You can only use the points to pay for Happy Mondays deals when booking Novotels.
However, if the hotel doesn’t charge you in advance (which happened to me once at an Ibis), you can print the vouchers beforehand and use them at check-out.
