1,800 Avios with £150 Tesco Wine purchase and other current Avios-earning Tesco deals

Tesco Wine is running another promotion with a chunk of bonus Clubcard points attached. If you didn’t see this offer covered on Shopper Points last week, here is a summary.
This is an exclusive deal which Tesco Wine has arranged with WinesDirect. This is an interesting website I hadn’t seen before and which summarises online wine deals from all the major suppliers.
The code offers 750 Clubcard points when you spend £150. This is more points than you would have earned with the first January deal they ran, but it also needs a higher spend.
The good news is that the Wine Cellar Sale is still running and you can combine the two deals. You can save up to 50% on a wide range of wine and champagne with prices starting as low as £5 per bottle.
When you spend at least £150 and use the code XXLKMJ at checkout, you will receive a bonus of 750 Clubcard points.
This offer expires on 7th February or after 1000 redemptions have been made, whichever comes first. You will be told when you enter the code if it has reached the cap so you can be certain that you will get the points.
You don’t have to specifically buy the sales wines in order to get the extra points, but obviously the deal works out better if you do. Free next day delivery will be included as you will be spending over £50.
My feeling is that Tesco Wine is looking to increase its average order size this year. We may have seen the end, at least temporarily, of bonus points for spending £50 or £60. Let’s see.
This offer is open to both new and existing customers of Tesco Wine so it is worth popping across to the Tesco Wine site to see what you can find.
If you think Tesco Wine is a bit downmarket, by the way, think again. One of the deals in the sale is a 2009 Château d’Yquem which is reduced from £2,400 to just £1,800 per 6-bottle case ….
Other Tesco Clubcard bonus point offers still running
The following deals are also still running over at Tesco Direct – they may be useful if you need the product in question. The link takes you to the relevant Shopper Points article:
Ends 27th April – 100 free Clubcard points when you make a MoneyGram transfer in-store
Ends 1st March – 4,000 Clubcard points for taking out Tesco Pet Insurance
Ends 29th February – 100 free Clubcard points from Tesco Bank
Ends 2nd February – 2000 extra Clubcard points with Servis and Sharp large appliances
Ends 2nd February – triple Clubcard points with Hotpoint and Indesit large appliances
Tesco Direct ending free Click & Collect tomorrow
Finally, don’t forget that Tesco Direct is scrapping free delivery of Click & Collect orders from tomorrow.
A £2 fee will be added to all orders under £30 placed from 2nd February which you collect from your local Tesco store, which now includes Express and Local outlets.
One way of avoiding the fee is to sign up for a free one-month trial of Tesco Delivery Saver. One of the benefits of this is that Click & Collect orders from Tesco Direct will only require a £10 minimum spend for free delivery.
If you were planning to make any small orders from Tesco Direct, I would pop over today to order and avoid the fee.
