New Avios earning partner – Direct Ferries

  You’d have been much better off switching to E.ON on the last collective deal – which HFP reported https://headforpoints.com/2015/11/01/get-1500-clubcard-points-3600-avios-with-an-e-on-collective-fuel-switch/

  I switched the time before – and completely forgetting the Avios on top – the gas/ elec cost was by far the cheapest fix in the market at the time, saving me over £150 ISTR – & I was already on a very competitive fix.

  Look out for the next one – I had a quick look & couldn’t see anything – but pattern was September…November…next?

    We’re only with Utility Warehouse as they were the incumbent when we moved in, in the summer 🙂 So no fixed period, but they are still currently the cheapest with our electricity only Economy 7 tariff.

    If you phone Avios.com they will probably be able to book it for you and give you 2 Avios per £ – every little helps. We booked via Avios for our recent Ornkey trip – it was through Direct Ferries but we only got 2avios/£ back in November.

  We use P&O ferries twice a year normally (overnight sailings from Hull), and used to book via the AA (for a ~10% discount) but if we needed to make changes to the booking, we found P&O obstructive and unhelpful. This was in sharp contrast to their helpfulness when we’d booked directly with them.

  I didn’t like their tactics, but they serve an ideal route for us, so we now book directly with P&O. This may be worth factoring into the equation… But I’m tempted to give Direct Ferries a try!

    Odd. We use Donegal Travel to book P&O for Irish Sea crossing. They’re always cheaper than direct and have changed sailings a couple times now with now bother.

  Hi

  My daughter’s finance booked ferry tickets recently with Direct Ferries.

  When it came to the pop up asking him for his Avios number, (he is not a member and neither is my daughter) he asked her if she wanted to join Avios in order to start saving Avios and in order to get those which will be awarded with the booking he was making.

  My query is :-

  My daughter is not the lead passenger – she is the 2nd one

  although her fiancé put himself as the lead passenger and my daughter gave her email address for the booking and all correspondence, will she still get the Avios, as up to now, nothing has been credited into her new Avios account.

    It depends on whether Direct Ferries just sends Avios a list of account numbers to credit, or if they also send surnames (and if they then must match). We don’t know this.

      I was wondering because on your information at the top of the page it says :-

      There is no special booking link. Book as usual on the main Direct Ferries site. When you create an account with Direct Ferries you will find a box to enter your Avios number. Once done, you will automatically be credited with points from all of your bookings.

      Does this mean that the points go onto your ferry account before transferred to Avios ?

      and by saying automatically be credited, that sounds like soon . if that is the case, then there is nothing in her new Avios account.

      oh well…. 🙂
