      5. The site is located approximately 200 metres to the south east of Terminal 4, Heathrow
      Airport. The site is currently known as the S4 car park and it utilised by airline staff that are
      assigned at Terminal 4. The car park contains 133 spaces but is temporary only. At present, a pedestrian route is marked beneath the departures level vehicle exit ramp between the site and the terminal.

      6. As shown above, the site is bounded on two sides by Swindon Road to the north and
      Southern Perimeter Road to the south east. Swindon Road exists as a service road to the terminal […] A large, vegetated embankment forms the western boundary of the site. This carries Stratford Road, which is the exit route for traffic from the Terminal 4 departures forecourt. Therefore, the site is an island sitting amongst a network of roads serving the terminal and wider Airport. […]

    £5 each way on the Hoppa plus at least an extra hour of your time on a round trip plus the fact these will be brand new hotels and not the rusting hulks generally found on Bath Road …. I reckon you’d need to be saving at least £30 over the HIX to make it worthwhile.

      I use the free TFL buses to get to/from Bath Rd hotels.

    Perhaps, but then a lot of people seeking out the cheapest deal don’t realise that hotel hoppa bus costs £5 for a single journey, £9 return. So for a couple that’s another £18 on their room cost. A lot of people will be under the impression that there will be a hotel courtesy bus (= free) which will shuttle back n forth, why pay £9 for a bus that travels around all the hotels.

    Also, most of the hotels fail to mention the cost of the hotel hoppa, I have witnessed the indignation of tourists when they go to buy a ticket off the machine in hotel reception – this was at the Doubletree at Hatton Cross, where the tube station is a short walk, cheaper and quicker. (Good hotel btw, get a room with a runway view.)

    If you’ve got any Heathrow Rewards points you can transfer them across to Emirates (and vice versa).

      I have 111 HR points due to expire soon) – is there a minimum for the conversion over? I’m tempted to do it just to keep them alive for longer (… and in the hope that the mighty Valiants make it to the 3rd round and the offer continues 😉 )! 🙂

    Found my own answer! T/F 1000 Amex MR points to Skywards, leaving 999 left over.
    Hmmm – what do I do with them (apart from hope my team gets through and the offer applies right through to the Cup Final?!
    And I think their ‘first flight bonus’ only lasts 6 months after sign-up – so I think I’ll decline the offer…

      If you try booking it doesn’t actually complete, so you’d be better spending a tenner to get to the game! Although Welling is near-sold out apparently, so this may be the first example of using one Emirates mile to get ‘last seat’ availability…

  Hyatt sounds interesting but the references I can see put it near Brunel University and Stockley Business Park, i.e. north of the M4 / Crowne Plaza.

    I’ve mentioned this on another thread here but the Hyatt Place being built that I go past regularly is in fact in Hayes/Southall. It’s an old highrise office block they tried to rent for years in a lonely light industrial area . Pretty much at Springfield Road and Uxbridge Road junction, in Hayes.

    It’s conceivably just off the airport (T1,2,3) as you would head straight North on the A312 to it for a short number of miles

    It’s had the Hyatt Place sign up for months.

      PS if this is the one they’re selling as “Heathrow Airport/Hayes” then let’s hope shuttle drivers have local knowledge because the A312 Hayes bypass is regularly standing traffic every rush hour especially at the Heathrow end, and occasionally at other times of the day and once you’re on it, there is only one unsatisfactory way off it if you get stuck.
