50% off Las Vegas hotels with IHG Rewards Club points – 24 hours to 5pm Tuesday

Between 5pm on Monday 23rd and 5pm on Tuesday 24th, IHG Rewards Club is offering its two luxury Las Vegas properties – The Venetian and The Palazzo – for a 50% discount on points.

Instead of 50,000 points per night, you can book them today for just 25,000 points.

This deal is valid for stays in December, January, February and March bar a few black-out dates listed on the site.  If you will be in Las Vegas during this period, it may be a deal worth taking.

Remember that IHG Rewards Club nights are fully cancellable and refundable so you have nothing to lose if a better deal turns up nearer the time.

Both of these hotels are technically “InterContinental Alliance Resorts”.  Your status benefits may vary from those received at normal InterContinental hotels.

I tend to value IHG points at £5 ($7.50) per 1,000.  Take a look at the cash rates before you book – if the hotel is charging $185 or more including tax (add 12% to the headline price online to factor in tax) then using points is a decent deal.

As usual in Las Vegas, rates are substantially higher at weekends and you shouldn’t have trouble breaking the $185 level at these two properties.  The smallest room at The Palazzo is actually a 720 square foot suite!

As is also usual in Las Vegas, there is a compulsory ‘resort fee’.  You need to pay this whether you book for cash or points.  At The Palazzo it is $30 plus tax per night and includes “Access for two to the fitness facility within the Canyon Ranch SpaClub, in-suite internet access (WiFi or Ethernet), boarding pass printing, unlimited local and toll-free calls, daily newspaper, two complimentary coffee or tea beverages at Café Presse per day, and one two-for-one drink coupon for well drinks, domestic beer or wine at any casino bar excluding The Bourbon Room (must be 21 or older to redeem drink coupon).”
