New American Express statement credit deals launched

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

A batch of new ‘statement credit’ offers appeared on my American Express online account yesterday.

If you have a Gold, Platinum, BA, SPG, Nectar or other Amex-issued Amex card, you should have a look and register for any of those which interest you.  Most have a cap on the number of participants.

You will find the offers on the online statement summary pages down at the bottom.

Not targetted?  Don’t panic.  In time, I would expect these offers to appear on the cardmemberoffers.co.uk site where any Amex-issued Amex card can be registered – some are already there.

Got a Lloyds, MBNA etc Amex? You can register at the Amex Connect site.  Most of these offers are already showing there.

This is what has appeared across my cards:

Gap – spend £70, get £10 back

11,000 cards only / ends 21st December

House of Fraser – spend £100, get £10 back

18,000 cards only / ends 21st December

The Outnet – spend £250, get £50 back

25,000 cards only / ends 31st December

Heals – spend £100, get £10 back

25,000 cards only / ends 20th December

Fenwick / Bentalls – spend £80, get £10 back

25,000 cards only / ends 20th December

River Island – spend £60, get £10 back

20,000 cards only / ends 20th December

There are also more obscure deals for Appleyard, My First Years, Orlebar Brown (BA cards only, I think), Milli Millu, feelunique.com, Wynsors World of Shoes and Strand of Silk, plus a few older offers which have not yet expired – take a look online and see what you have.

River Island – anybody remember the pre-image-enhancement name? Mister Byrite. 🙂

The Oxford Circus London branch, trying to appeal to visitors, plastered its windows with alternative branding ; Herr Kaufen Sie Richtig 😀 and M Acheter a Bon Prix (or similar). 😀

Not sure they would have attracted me.

[missing the opportunity of including proper smilies …]

    • Roger says:

Oh, I see they worked. 🙂

    • Rob says:

Didn’t River Island actually emerge from Chelsea Girl originally?

    • Daz says:

If I remember rightly, “Englisher Kaufen” doesn’t go down to well in Germany.

It can be quite an effective tool to add “Foreignness” to a lagging brand; Bon Prix (AKA Gratton) have done alright out of it. “Mange tous, mange tous Rodney” as Del Boy would say.

  • Meera says:

there was a great net-a-porter offer recently – what do you think the chances are of that coming back or appearing on the car member offers site?!

  • Andrew says:

there is £25 off £100 spend at Hugo Boss which is decent

  • lucinda says:

do these work for supp cards too?

  • london2tim says:

These offers are less and less appealing
last year they had spend 50 get 10 back or spend 100 and get 25 back
Now is spend 100 to get 10 back????
next year will be spend 1000 to get 10 back….
