British Airways launches Club Europe flash sale from Gatwick – 13 destinations at £150

Last week, British Airways ran a 48-hour flash sale on ‘Winter sun’ economy flights from Gatwick.

This week, it is offering discounts on Club Europe destinations from Gatwick. 13 cities are available at £150!

You have only 48 hours to book.

You must travel between 3rd November 2015 and 29th February 2016.

These are the cities included:

Malta – £150
Innsbruck – £150

Bordeaux – £150
Faro / Algarve – £150

Vienna – £150
Seville – £150
Friedrichshafen – £150

These prices are marked ‘from’ – I don’t know how widespread the £150 seats are when you try to book.

This may be an attractive way to top up your tier points this Winter. If you are on the way to Bronze or Silver status, a couple of weekends away may be enough to tip you over. You will earn a minimum of 80 tier points return on these routes.

Marrakech and Malta offer exceptional deals if you want tier points. As the BA tier point calculator shows, these routes offer 160 tier points return. Spend just £300 to visit both Marrakech and Malta this Winter and you will get BA Bronze status! You would also earn 4,000 Avios return on those routes.

I have never seen Club Europe pricing this low apart from on ‘next door’ routes such as Amsterdam or Dublin. The idea that you can get all the way to Malta in business class for £150 return is incredible.

Remember, you are getting lounge access, a recently improved on-board food offering, all the mini bottles of champagne you can drink, a guaranteed empty middle seat and fast track Gatwick security.

It is a world of difference, especially if having a break with your partner, from hanging around Gatwick and then being stuck at the back of the plane, sharing a row with a stranger, waiting for your mini-bag of crisps to come around …..

    You go into your BMI Diamond Club Amex account & use the link to get it, most of the time there doesn’t actually seem to be a discount (so I stopped trying) but others are saying it’s working on these CE fares. I don’t think it works just by using this card alone, never has for me, anyway.

Thanks Mike/Marly, in that case I’m in for 4 returns to Malta to grab 640 tp’s and BA silver for £600. To attain silver, these CE runs are even better than that RJ fare to BKK which I was also considering. Thanks guys.

Excellent fares but does anyone share my view that the CE product from LGW is not quite up to the standard of CE from LHR? I always call it Club Europe Lite. On a flight to the south of Spain last year, there was no pre-meal bar service, just straight into the afternoon tea and attempt to clear that up pretty quickish too. On a flight of that length they can hardly claim they’re pressed for time. Any thoughts?

I needed 220TP’s before the 8th nov. Looked good this morning hoping i could do a malta + Another run but it wont fit in due to the stay length i.e most of the malta stays are for longer days in duration to open the £75 each way fare. Any recommendations to reach 220 in that one week window from 3rd – 7th inclusive? I have potential to travel the week before but the deals only start on the 3rd as noted above.

My wife has always wanted to go to Venice, so I checked flights over the valentines week in half term thinking, no chance! Well, I got a 3 night break for 148 Pounds with 22,500 Avios.
I really do appreciate this as I would not have spotted it..

Now I just need to find a cheap hotel as flights are 815am and I live 4 hours away, so any ideas for cheap Gatwick hotels with parking, please let me know..

  There are a couple of hotels directly in the airport, the Sofitel is in the BA terminal, I believe. But you might find it cheaper to be a short distance away – there must be a shuttle bus.

  Not romantic but the North terminal Prwmier Inn is a short walk away and comes with valet parking in the official short stay car park.
