Hilton to rebrand The Cambridge City Hotel
Hilton announced yesterday that it has signed a management contract on The Cambridge City Hotel on Downing Street. This used to be the Crowne Plaza.
The hotel is due to open as a Hilton in December. It will complement the existing DoubleTree property in the city and will offer a good Hilton HHonors redemption option given the high prices generally charged in Cambridge.
You can book the hotel at this page of hilton.com.
Kabbee offering double loyalty miles on airport trips
Minicab app Kabbee, which combines the fleets of 70 London minicab firms in one app, is offering double loyalty points on all airport journeys.
This does have a serious benefit. Once you become a BronzeBee – which you would reach after one airport trip with double points – you are eligible for the Kabbee ‘5 minute refund guaranteee’. If your Kabbee driver arrives more than 5 minutes late (for a job booked more than an hour in advance), Kabbee will refund your entire fare.
Airport fares are fixed. From Central London the app charges £25 to Heathrow, £45 to Stansted, £45 to Gatwick and £50 to Luton.
You will get a further £5 off your first trip if you use code [deleted as now expired] when you install the app. If you want to book online, the Kabbee airport site is here.
