Full list of peak and off-peak Avios redemption dates for BA and Iberia

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

When I published my list of all British Airways destinations and their cost in Avios, there were requests for a consolidated list of peak and off-peak redemption dates.

I’m happy to oblige.

The tables below cover the next 12 months.  The first set apply for British Airways redemptions.  They do NOT apply to:

redemptions on Iberia, which are priced off a different peak and off-peak chart even when booked at ba.com

redemptions on partner airlines, which are ALWAYS priced at peak rate

The Iberia peak and off-peak calendar is shown at the bottom.  If you are smart, you can arbitrage the difference in off-peak dates.  For example, October half-term is ‘peak’ for BA but ‘off-peak’ for Iberia.  Booking an Iberia redemption for that period will be substantially cheaper, although you cannot use a BA Amex 2-4-1 voucher on Iberia.

If you are reading this on a mobile, the tables may not display properly.  I recommend switching to ‘desktop view’ or looking again later when you are on a desktop or tablet.

I will add a link to this article to the ‘Favourites’ page and keep it updated.

Off-peak dates are in cream.  The easy way to remember this is that Tuesday and Wednesday flights are ALWAYS off-peak on British Airways.

Very handy summary to have easily accessible, thanks Raffles – shame you’ve had to do BA’s work for them on both this and the reward pricing chart! Good tip re Tue/Wed always being off peak with BA (this year at least)

  • craig says:

    What about August 2016?

  • Concerto says:

Is Flybe considered a partner airline and accordingly priced at peak rates, or is it like BA and Iberia?

  • Roger says:

There seems to be an anomaly when amending an award booking online for different dates.

Off-peak can only be changed online for off-peak. Changing to peak requires a phone call. Fair enough.

Peak can be changed online for peak or for off-peak with the balance being recredited to your Avios account. At least that’s what I thought I saw before the dreaded ‘systems not responding’ message appeared..

Our off-peak/peak to JNB in F has been successfully changed online to off-peak/off-peak. I’m still waiting for the balance to be credited and have claimed. BA’s stock patronising response is ‘Please be assured that your email is important to us and will be responded to as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience.’

  • Rob says:

Many thanks, most helpful. Didn’t realise that Tuesday and Wednesday flights are off-peak, even during school holidays. That’s good to know, and I hope it continues into 2016 and beyond.

  • Paul says:

‘redemptions on partner airlines, which are ALWAYS priced at peak rate’ – there are some exceptions, i.e. I booked MAD – LHR (11 oct) via BAEC, operated by Iberia, but it was priced as off-peak, even though it’s peak on Iberia calendar.

    • Rob says:

This is probably yet another bit of small print … Iberia flight but with a BA codeshare / BA flight number is priced off the BA table!

  • Zoe says:

Off topic, but does anyone know what has happened to Accor Happy Mondays? Although its Monday the calendar seems blanked out, tried various destinations including London.

    • Brian says:

Working for me. Just go to the normal Accor page and put code Monday into the code box. No need to use a special landing page.

  • KeithS says:

Timing is everything – I created my own BA peak / off peak list…………yesterday ! 🙂
