Following the success of our previous chauffeur drive competition, and thanks to global professional driver service Blacklane, I am running another special giveaway today which will last for just 18 hours.

Between now and midnight, you can win up to £200 (or US$200 or €200) of credit towards a Mercedes E-Class, Mercedes S-Class or luxury SUV transfer.

This competition is open to readers worldwide as Blacklane operates in 50 countries.  In the UK, they are in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London and / or Manchester.

In my tests, pricing for a Mercedes E-Class or equivalent from my house to Heathrow was virtually the same as using Uber, with the added benefit that your Blacklane trip is pre-booked and the price is guaranteed.

The prize

The winner will receive TWO ride vouchers for free from Blacklane.  Each voucher entitles you to a single journey worth up to £100, €100 or US$100, depending where you choose to use it.

I am using the same automated entry software that I used for other recent competitions.

Your details remain private – they will not be shared with Blacklane and will not be used by Head for Points for any other purpose.

This competition is open to everyone, everywhere except where prohibited by local law.

    It is asking me to verify my entry by signing in with Facebook or Twitter (or options of many others, which I don’t have).

    I’m not prepared to do this, as I don’t want it spread across my social media.

      It does this if you previously entered one of the competitions on HFP which had extra entries for social media sharing. Use a different email address and it should be OK.

    I have used Blacklane in Germany, Austria, Italy, UK, Thailand, China and possibly elsewhere I’ve forgotten about. In general, I have found them much cheaper than hotel cars and, with the discount codes frequently available (or those that you get for recommending a friend), a similar price to other car services or taxis. We have trips booked for Vietnam in a couple of months – much cheaper than the local travel agents were quoting (a third of the price for a Mercedes E class). In London, they tend to be cheaper than Uber (for equivalent car) on the airport runs (especially if using a discount voucher). Only had a problem once (in Moscow – the driver didn’t turn up) but felt the situation was compensated adequately.

    On shorter journeys or if I need a vehicle within 6 hours, I use Uber. However, if I want a car at a particular time, I use Blacklane – have received an upgrade to S class a few times, which is always welcome. I’ve never used the app though – always book through the website, which can be buggy at times but as it seems to have gone through a few recent changes, I guess they are working on it.
