Small Starwood promotion launched which is not very exciting at all

UPDATE – DECEMBER 2021:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

I think I have been overdoing the exclamation marks in article headlines recently.  That is unlikely to a problem with the Summer Starwood Preferred Guest promotion.

(There is a Sheraton-only promotion on the way which is more interesting – more on that tomorrow.)

Called ‘Make It Count’, you earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints when you stay for two or more consecutive nights, one of which must be a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

SPG Make It Count promo

It is valid for stays from now until 31st August.  The last to register via this page is 15th August.

All Starwood properties globally (Le Meridien, Westin, W, St Regis, Luxury Collection, Aloft, Sheraton etc) are taking part.  For once there are no exclusions.

As I value SPG points at around 1.5p each, this is around £15 of value from the bonus.

Frankly, it is not a desperately exciting offer.  More importantly for Starwood, it is unlikely to have many people adjusting their schedules in order to earn it.

That said, this is a bonus I am actually going to earn as I already have two nights in a Westin booked for August.  I will happily take the 1,000 bonus points.

You MUST register in order to receive the bonus via the link on this page.  It is worth doing now as you may forget later, although I will add it to our ‘Hotel Offers‘ page.  This page should always be your first stop if you are looking to maximise your rewards from an upcoming hotel booking.

For not exciting promotions what about this one? http://saveecrewards.co.uk/blog/an-insult-of-a-promotional-offer

50 bonus Nectar points (25p) for buying a Virgin Trains East Coast standard anytime ticket (these are the most expensive standard class tickets, over £200 return on routes to London).

THIS IS A LIMITED TIME OFFER!! To get your 25p worth of points book by 7 June.

Remember you can also earn Virgin Atlantic miles which is probably more use than Nectar, but they don’t seem eligible for this promotion.

Do you think that this will work with reward stays?

  • Clive says:

No was confirmed by a Lurker that it would not work. There is also chat of another SPG promotion coming along for Sheraton brand only. Stay 5 nights and get a certificate for a free night at any Sheraton Worldwide.

I’ve 2 rooms booked at the National in Moscow in August. 2×5 nights. Are there any promos I should register for ?

  • Nick says:

In the next few weeks I need to book about 25 nights for various trips, and the only decent hotel offer on at the moment is the club carlson one…. but that seriously devalued by the recent rate changes. It’s so frustrating – we’ve had loads of good hotel offers in the recent past, but nothing on at the moment!

    • Rob says:

Hilton double points has been extended to August.

Hyatt is emailing people with targeted promos at the moment.
