News in brief:

Lufthansa launches a business class sale

Lufthansa has not, historically, been very aggressive in targeting the UK market.  I was a little surprised to see this sale launched.

The prices are not bad, although of course a few places on the list are a bit too hot for comfort in the Summer.  India is from £1399.  Hong Kong is interesting at £1699 and the rest of Asia is around the £1799 mark.

You need to book by May 26th for travel in July and August.

Lufthansa is in the process of moving to fully flat business class seating.  You definitely want to avoid the old sloping seats.  This is the latest list of which planes have been converted.

Lufthansa

Cathay Pacific business class sale

On the other hand, if you are heading to Asia, I would choose Cathay Pacific over Lufthansa any day.  As well as being a generally better business class product, you will also earn Avios and British Airways tier points.

£1799 to much of Asia is not a bad deal – click for details.  These fares must be booked by the 19th for travel by July 12th.

Cathay Pacific 350

Tesco toys deal

Tesco Direct is offering 500 bonus Clubcard points when you spend £25 on Fisher-Price toys.

This is a decent deal if you are in the market for some toys, possibly as gifts.   500 Clubcard points will get you 1,200 Avios or 1,250 Virgin Flying Club miles, and of course you have the toys as well.

This offer ends tomorrow so take a look today.  The special Fisher-Price page is here.

Will Young CD offer

Finally, you will receive 150 Clubcard points (360 Avios) if you pre-order the new Will Young CD, 85% Proof, for £10.

The link to buy is here.  The deal ends on May 24th.

The Lufthansa group has always had some really cheap fares hovering just over £1000 in Business Class from the UK to India between LH and LX. It’s one of the markets they always try and get people off the BA or ME3 flights!

No thanks Lufthansa, ugliest first class cabin i’ve ever experienced, can’t imagine what business would be like..
